Director Learning Zone The Salvation Army Cleveland

Job Description:
The Learning Zone Director will serve as a consultant to corps throughout the NEOSA Division as it relates to uniting our young people from Learning Zones and Day Camp, and Social Services with the local Corps.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities.

Educational Administration - 45%
Regularly maintain contact with program directors as well as perform regular site visits to the Learning Zone preschool, afterschool, and summer day camp programs
Assist with the licensing and Step Up to Quality planning and paperwork where applicable
Conduct regular Learning Zone staff training that includes components that can provide Step Up to Quality or licensing professional development credits and promote collaboration amongst divisional staff
Work with program directors to implement community collaborations, new program ideas, and assessment tools that will help maintain quality and safe programs
Oversee the implementation of divisional Learning Zones goals and best practices that promote the missions of the Learning Zone and The Salvation Army
Follow-up with Learning Zone directors on government or state agency inspections

Development - 45%
Help Learning Zones implement strategies for carrying out their Learning Zone business plan
Compile information and complete reports related to Learning Zone grants
Serve as the point person for all government and state contracts and programs including the USDA afterschool and Summer Day Camp feeding programs
Assist the Development Department and Corps Officers in identifying new funding opportunities and writing grants for Learning Zones

Other Duties - 10%
Perform other duties as assigned by the Divisional Secretary for Program
Serve on the Divisional Mission Alignment Council (MAC) and provide monthly updates
Maintain proper protocol with Corps Officers when working with Learning Zone Directors and staff
Review and consult on Learning Zone staff hires
Disseminate information on Ohio Department of Education initiatives, licensing changes, etc. to Learning Zone staff
Work with Corps Officers to help promote other corps youth activities through the Learning Zone
Send out internal monthly newsletter to divisional Learning Zone staff
