Elemental Technologies is the leading supplier of software-defined video solutions for multiscreen content delivery, and we are looking for a Director of Engineering to grow and lead a team of engineers in building the best Live Media Transcoder in the world.
In this position, you will direct the work of a group of smaller teams, each responsible for parts of the overall Live Transcoder product. Your teams will be responsible for the core pipeline of the Live transcoder product, delivering a structure that all other feature development will be built upon.

What You’ll Do
Lead several teams of engineers as they design, implement, and test new features in our products
Plan major initiatives for growth in the Elemental Live transcoding product line
Own significant portions of the Elemental Live product, and have responsibility for their on time and quality delivery
Be a respected thought leader on the future of live transcoding at Elemental
Partner with Elemental field personnel to harden the requirements for feature requests
Solicit and track engineering estimates for customer features to create development plans
Recruit new talent to grow your teams and mentor these managers and engineers as they progress in their careers
Clear roadblocks for your teams to empower them to do their best work
Set standards for development quality, and hold people to do their best work
Solidify your standing as a subject matter expert in modern media technologies

In The First 6 Months, You Will
Learn how our products work today, and where we want to take them in the future
Lead your teams through designing, building, testing and shipping several new features
Influence the strategic direction of the Live transcoding product
Proactively recruit new leaders to join Elemental
Launch at least one customer deployment that wouldn’t have happened without you
A BS in Math, Science, or an Engineering discipline
10+ years of experience managing large teams of engineers
A history of learning new domains and providing leadership
