Job Description:
The IT Security Engineering Director is a major contributor to the success of Juniper’s IT Security program and the protection of the company’s intellectual property and computing assets. This position requires strong leadership and prior management experience and is directly accountable to support the CISO directives and ensure consistent execution and management of all related activities, resources and security priorities.
The CISO heavily relies on this role for vision input, recommendations and planning to make positive and pragmatic security decisions that align to corporate risk tolerances and strategic objectives. This director serves as a central point of contact for information security engineering, security systems development and maintenance, and security testing, vulnerability management, configuration management, and DLP. This position reports directly to the Vice President/Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), acts as a Chief of Staff to the CISO and is a member of Juniper’s IT Security Leadership Team.
· Build, execute and manage enterprise security initiatives in a complex organizational environment.
· Drive the development and implementation of standard processes that result in effective methods for transferring implemented solutions to operations.
· Direct proper application of security controls to ensure relevance, effectiveness, scalability, and business value across the enterprise.
· Manage the demand/supply of project resources and tracking allocation.
· Influence all project and portfolio stakeholders; communicate highly relevant information to both executive leaders and individual contributors in an effective manner.
· Oversee and coordinate team plans, deliverables and continuity in how security services are delivered and effectively managed across the enterprise.
· Effectively collaborate with Directors, Managers and Team Members in the pursuit of measurable outcomes and results.
· Manage and lead a team of high performing individuals who implement and manage the lifecycle of security solutions to meet current and future needs for Juniper Networks.
· Effectively work cross-functionally with and through business and IT managers to build consensus and drive results.
· Deliver large technology project-portfolios in a fast-paced environment with accountability for deadlines and value propositions.
· Manage project budgets and scope, and conduct resource planning for risks that are proactively identified.
· Develop and employ strategies to bring strategic alignment between technology and business stakeholders at Juniper Networks.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
· A Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Information Technology or related field. MBA preferred.
· CISM, CISSP preferred.
· 8-12 years' experience leading and managing teams that successfully implement large-scale security projects.
· Recognized as an Industry Expert in the field of Information Security.
· Demonstrated experience managing direct reports, as well as teams within large cross-functional projects.
· Proven track record of being results orientated with demonstrated ability to achieve aggressive goals.
· Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to gather relevant data and information, actively listen, dialogue freely, verbalize ideas effectively, negotiate tense situations successfully, and manage and resolve conflict.
· Proven presentation and facilitation skills.
· Demonstrated expertise of building a consensus across business partners and technology leaders, and influencing successful outcomes.
· Must excel working in team-oriented roles that rely on ability to collaborate with others.
· Experience working successfully in a high matrix organization.
· Extensive knowledge of industry best practices and standards in information security management, risk analysis and the development/implementation of security systems and protocols.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple teams in a dynamic environment
· Customer-focused mindset, with demonstrated skill in managing expectations, providing proactive status updates, and producing high-quality work product.
· Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives.
