Job Description:
Reporting to the Audit and Finance Committee Chair and administratively to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Internal Audit will have overall responsibility for the design and implementation of AMDs worldwide internal audit program as well as will be responsible for all enterprise risk management activities. Working with the senior management team, he/she will have primary leadership responsibility to ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of the companys system of financial and operating controls.
The Director, Internal Audit must have strong audit, finance, and business acumen and leadership skills. The successful candidate will bring a strategic orientation, understanding of operations, intellectual curiosity and experience in carrying out the duties of this function. This position may be located in Austin, Texas or Sunnyvale, California.
Specific Responsibilities
Undergraduate degree with accounting and systems certifications preferred
Must have 10 or more years progressive accounting, audit and/or FP&A experience, as well as working knowledge of the complexities of a global company and ability to operate within a matrix environment
Must have strong technical financial skills and a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing, cost accounting, public accounting, internal auditing, GAAP, PCAOB standards, Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO
Semiconductor, technology or related industry experience a plus
Solid project management skills. Demonstrated track record of attention to detail, time management and prioritization skills
Ability to provide sound business judgment, strategic thinking, and broad financial and business perspective across the organization
Proven talent to correct and resolve issues in a sustainable manner, holding internal audit team members and other managers throughout the Company accountable for such corrections/resolutions
Identification of issues and application of relevant experience is not sufficient
Strong and engaging presence, inspiring a spirit of cooperation and a sense of purpose
Positive can-do attitude with understanding of real limitations and the ability to push back when necessary
Strong communication skills and executive presence as demonstrated through crisp writing, speaking and thinking and proven experience interacting with senior management.
