Job Description:
ECommerce is an increasingly important channel within the Laboratory Products Group (LPG) transactional mix, and an opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Director of eCommerce within the LPG Marketing team. This role will be responsible for driving forward the portfolio of eCommerce capabilities and for maximizing the use of the channel to drive long term and sustained commercial value.

Dedicated to the development of the channel both as a lead generating and a revenue creating vehicle the Director for eCommerce will be tasked with working with members across the marketing organization to optimize and leverage our web investment for maximum commercial advantage. This role will work across the business units, regions and divisions to ensure that eCommerce is an integral part of the marketing mix and that the objectives of channel preference are delivered.

Responsibilities
Develop and manage the LPG eCommerce channel, including eCommerce and B2B systems.
Develop strategies to maximize eCommerce opportunities in North America initially and Europe in the future.
Accountable to achieve eCommerce revenue, profitability, visits, leads and conversion targets as mutually established with the business.
In conjunction with the business units drive product portfolio and price optimization for the eCommerce channel.
Oversee interactions between the LPG commercial organizations and the eCommerce channel.
Radiate knowledge and expertise to other areas in the marketing organization to ensure maximum leverage of existing capabilities and that future requirements are being captured, prioritized and delivered
Develop eCommerce channel marketing plans in conjunction with the businesses and Marketing Communications team. Partner with Digital Marketing to effectively drive campaigns and promotions.
Manage and share the required eCommerce dashboards and metrics to measure and track channel development and success.
Influence and educate the other members of the marketing organization to adopt and deploy new media and emerging web selling tactics and technologies
Requirements
BS/BA required, major in business or marketing field preferred. MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
Strong track record of working in web environments with a direct responsibility for sales conversion and eCommerce.
Expert in eCommerce merchandising platforms and Search, Social media and analytics trends. Possess exceptional understanding of the best practices for online user experience and interface strategies, site usability and user interface design.
Experience gathering business requirements, creating roadmaps and implementing solutions. Able to provide clear and measureable examples of innovation and thought leadership across a broad geographic and product area and will have worked in a high throughput online environment.
Demonstrate clear and sustained success in a target driven environment
Ability to create strategy and get hands on with execution
Fast and independent learner and worker, a self-starter that enjoys taking initiative.
Demonstrable long term experience in eCommerce, eProcurement, Electronic Settlement, Web Channel management and Digital Marketing are essential preferably within a multi-lingual geography.
Must be able to show success in multiple geographies - and have driven marketing activities across an extended territory) and be able to think and operate globally.
20-25% travel
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
BA/BS in major in business or technical field preferred; MBA, advance degree or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience
Excellent process improvement skills and track record.
Demonstrated ability to operate independently with broad guidance against a framework of defined business objectives.
Strong (written and verbal) communication and interpersonal skills. Clear communicator that is collaborative and able to build strong relationships quickly.
Strong time management, organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
Intellectual curiosity and strong willingness to learn.
