Director Corporate Strategy Cognizant New York City

Job Description:
The Director of Corporate Strategy will report to the VP of Corporate Strategy and will lead and participate in projects of strategic importance to the corporation and its business units. The range of projects varies from long range formulation efforts, strategic implementation support as well as initiatives related to operational matters of strategic importance to the company. These assignments will enable the Director to build a deeper understanding of the Company’s activities, and to build strong working relationships with key leaders of the business.

Responsibilities:

Effectively manage a portfolio of strategy projects from start to finish (i.e. issue diagnosis, hypothesis generation, developing a work plan, driving the data collection process, analyzing the data to generate insights, developing PowerPoint decks with a logical storyline, and presenting recommendations to internal clients)
Orchestrate and contribute to the annual strategic planning process
Contribute to the annual proactive M&A process
Must manage projects as well as execute projects directly (leader and operator)
Build rapport with BU heads, and other senior management to enable effective communication of project work and a close/collaborative working relationship
Desired Skills & Experience:

Top-tier MBA degree or equivalent graduate degree
10 years of post MBA experience (combination of top-tier management consulting and corporate strategy)
Strong client service orientation
Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity
Strong sense of macro strategy and general business acumen
Attention to details
Hands-on attitude is critical
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
Strong communication skills (presentation, memo, ppt, inter-personal) for executive level messaging
Demonstrate flexibility to both lead cross-functional teams, as well as self-perform key data based analyses.
Strong ability to build teams and create buy-in throughout the engagement process with internal clients
Must be able to work independently and be willing to get hands into the details to learn the businesses and execute assigned work
