Senior Director Delivery Concepts DHL eCommerce Weston

Job Description:
Role is responsible for the evaluation and improvement of last mile delivery channels in the US and international markets. The goal of this role is to ensure DHL eCommerce enhances its consumer experience through new delivery channels, and lessens dependence on existing last mile delivery partners. The last mile delivery enhancements should drive speed, reliability, efficiency and convenience and ensure that DHL is at the forefront of BZC delivery innovation.

The role will also manage the business development process as it relates to the last mile offering. This includes managing the necessary market and competitive research, defining market opportunities, developing product concepts and specifications, and preparing Business Cases for evaluation. Once new products and services are decided to be part of the strategic agenda, the role will oversee overall project management and implementation in the organization. The role will also work with other DHL regions to understand business models being employed, document best practices, and evaluate the adoption in the
Americas market.

Core Deliverables

• Last Mile Concept, Rollout Plan, BCA
• Set up/ refine target organizational structure
• Manage deployment to pilot metro in 2016
• Deploy to >6 greater metro areas by 2020
• Manage 3rd party IT/Ops partnership agreements
• >20% of US volume flowing through non-USPS channels by 2020

Key Activities

• Define the strategic road map for last mile delivery enhancement in the USA I Americas
• Generate intelligence and perspective on key market and customer trends as it pertains
to consumer parcel delivery in the USA and around the role
• Support strategic customer dialogues to validate and refine new BD opportunities, and gain support for pilot trials
• Prepare business cases for new last mile channels, products and services
• Coordinate cross functional decision making and project management as it relates to last mile delivery methods
• Coordinate closely with other regions to ensure best practices are understood, and facilitate the adoption in the Americas region
• Provide management team with project updates and status of strategic initiatives
• Lead the full life cycle of new business opportunities, from concept development to piloting and implementation
• Directly manage a team of product managers/analysts both in the USA and abroad

Demonstrated Experience In

• Managing elements of the strategic planning process for the mail, parcel, logistics ore commerce industry including market evaluation, competitive assessment, internal capability assessment, strategy crafting, and implementation planning
• Product development experience from concept to implementation
• Project management, and coordinating cross functional and international teams
• Managing and engaging in strategic dialogue with customers
• E commerce logistics and managing components of the e commerce value chain
• Network planning, ideally for parcel delivery
• Supply chain analysis and design
• Business analytics including project budgeting and financial planning

Experience

• 10 years of related work experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in
Parcel logistics I network design
Business development or business consulting;

• Minimum of 5 years of experience communicating with and presenting work to senior management teams

Educational Requirements

• Undergraduate degree
• Masters of Business Administration or graduate degree from a related field (Engineering, economics, logistics) preferred\
