This individual is responsible for the overall vision, strategy, and operation of the data warehouse and business intelligence unit at Hotwire. Will be an integral part of the business and play a key role in building, managing and mentoring our growing BI practice.
Key Responsibilities
Helping to build the roadmap for Business Intelligence to support the entire business.
Responsible for the design and development team for the data warehouse.
Responsible for ensuring data is provided timely per SLA.
Creating high-quality and actionable dashboards and reports suitable for delivery to management and team members.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a comprehensive understanding of the key drivers and opportunities within the business.
Manage priorities and clearly communicate expectations to department heads and the executive team.
Work closely with Data Engineering team to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of the company-wide Business Intelligence function.
Desired Skills & Experience
Proficiency with at least 1 enterprise warehouse stack such as Exadata, Terradata
Demonstrated experience with Hadoop, Spark, Storm or Talend
Ability to fully understand business goals and metrics and translate requirements into actionable analysis.
Well-developed ability to assess trends and insight from multiple data sets and large amounts of data, using text and statistical analytics, advanced Excel and other statistical and analytics solutions.
Detail-oriented and results driven with a passion for producing high-quality deliverables.
Demonstrated expertise in data visualization tools and business intelligence platforms.
Experience with either of Tableau/Microstrategy/Qlikview implementation is required
Demonstrated expertise in building mentoring and achieving high performing teams
Have the ability to turn data into insight, and to think creatively.
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required. Equivalent work experience can be substituted for educational requirements.
At least 8+ years of relevant work experience.
