Job Description:
Equivalent to a Director in the management track, Technical Directors have demonstrated consistent technical achievement and innovation. They have a deep understanding of their technology area and a broad understanding of the company’s range of technologies. Technical Directors serve as a corporate resource. They provide technical direction and advice to management in long-range planning for new or projected areas of software research. As technical visionaries, they create and implement state of the art ideas, mentor and help upgrade technical proficiency of the team, and consistently deliver creative designs.

They are responsible for system-level design specifications and technology plans. They also serve as a leader in the review of designs developed by other team members.

This is a "gated" position requiring an evaluation of overall skill set and interviews by a panel of executives. As a technical visionary, create and implement state of the art ideas; mentor and help upgrade technical proficiency of the team; consistently deliver creative designs; responsible for system-level design specifications and technology plans; serves as the leader in review of designs of other team members.

Known within the company and/or their division as a software applications and research expert. Involved in long range planning and serves as a liaison between management, product line representatives, and customers in developing and/or identifying new applications and/or technologies. Will determine new methods and develop new procedures for accomplishing work. Provides work direction and assigns tasks to lower level employees. Evaluates all known methods, company practices, and goals. Identifies and creates solutions that are likely to contribute to the development of new company concepts. Interfaces with all levels of management to negotiate project priorities and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

• 12+ years with division & company recognition & distinction.

• Highly creative and innovation skills

• advanced knowledge of software and networking security

• advanced knowledge of emerging technologies; fluent in C/C++, Java and object oriented design tools

• advanced skills and experience with Win32, Solaris, Linux, and other Posix-based operating systems

• demonstrated experience with multiple development lifecycle methodologies

• demonstrated experience with current and emerging industry best practices for component and infrastructure development

• proven experience developing robust, enterprise-class software; proven technical leadership; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to deal with ambiguity advanced presentation skills.

• 8+ years demonstrated design and development experience with demonstrated visioning and innovation experience.
