The primary responsibilities of the Director, STAT Reporting include the accounting and financial reporting for the AIG Life & Retirement companies on a Statutory basis of accounting.
This person will be responsible for leading a team that is responsible for the completion of all Statutory filings for the 5 legal entities within AIG Life & Retirement, including the MD&A, as well as all regulatory compliance matters with the department of insurance of each state. The STAT Financial Reporting team is comprised of a group in Houston and in the Bangalore, India Center of Finance.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Completion and expansion of statutory financial statement analysis, both in aggregate and by line of business.
- Preparation, oversight and review of annual STAT audited financial statements for the AIG Life and Retirement companies.
- Primary liaison between the Company and its independent auditor for Statutory matters.
- Ensuring compliance with Statutory reporting guidelines set by the NAIC by working closely with the accounting policy team.
- Interacting with various areas within the organization to ensure timely and accurate disclosures & statements.
This individual will need to be able to operate in an extremely fast paced, complex accounting environment.

This position reports to the Vice President - Financial Reporting.

* Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience
* CPA a plus
* Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
