Job Description:
Manages sales of the organization’s services (e.g., maintenance and service contracts). Group is responsible for developing new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts within an established geographic territory, industry, product segment or channel. Incumbents at the Director and Senior Director level typically manage other sales managers. Incumbents at the Manager level may manage only individual contributor sales account managers and may carry their own sales quota. The incumbent’s level may be determined by the size of the geographic area of responsibility (e.g., region vs. district vs. branch), the size or significance of the industry or product segment for which the incumbent is responsible, or other factors.
May be responsible for attaining sales objectives on branch/area/district/regional basis. Responsible for a limited territory/ industry/ product line. Primary duty is to manage individual contributors, but generally operates at a more senior level than Manager level and may manage through subordinates. Ensures that operational policies are followed and that business objectives are achieved. Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas or sections. Manages a number of projects varying in complexity that need technical/business expertise. Focus on best practices and process improvements ensuring effective execution of operational plan while meeting Corporate specifications. Plans, implements and maintain budget for functional areas or sections.
Oracle seeks an experienced Global Sales Director to join its dynamic and growing Global Oracle Virtualization & Linux Embedded Sales organization, with a global responsibility. This person will bring with them key relationships with organizations and manufacturers that have their own go to market sales channels selling their own software, hardware or device solutions. The Embedded Sales Director will leverage these relationships to help their sales teams to sell Oracle Linux and Oracle VM so such organizations can embed them into their technologies. This person must demonstrate experience in mentoring a sales team to developing and managing complex long-term relationships and sales cycles backed up by industry recognized sales methodology such as infomentis; possess the ability to demonstrate strong executive C-level engagement, fostering trust based relationships that result in strong long-term partnerships with Oracle; and demonstrate strong leadership by utilizing their influential skills as they will need to leverage the wider Oracle organization to maximize success. Team player and contributor are highly important attributes for success as this role with require cross line of business collaboration. A deep understanding of Oracle contractual and legal process for embedded partners is a big advantage but not essential for consideration of this role.
