Director Network Architect Hallmark Kansas City

Job Description:
This position will be a part of the Shared Services department within Technology & Business Enablement, and will report to the Shared Services Director. The shared services organization is accountable for controlling and optimizing over 65% of the total IT Spend. With this accountability, we manage every aspect of computing and application utilization for Hallmark Cards.

Responsibilities

The Network Architect Director will have accountability for the design and implementation of the components that enable connectivity across both our corporate and retail network. The successful candidate will effectively deliver the network that brings together the suite of applications, technologies, and infrastructure in a way that ensures secure, effective, and efficient use of our resources. The Network Architecture Director will work closely with Information Security, Internal Audit, and key business partners to design the most appropriate solution(s) to help Hallmark operate securely in the execution of our business. Together, the Network Architect Director and their team will build a sustainable network that provides a sound system of controls, in line with our information security strategy and recommendations and our corporate policy. The responsibilities are far reaching in that the scope of area under management includes both our headquarters (which oversees North American operations) and our retail network. Key responsibilities include:

Preparation and dissemination of a strategic plan for the Hallmark network that is reviewed and revised at least annually.
Routine evaluation of the effectiveness of our network infrastructure in line with expected support of our retail and corporate business needs. These evaluations will include, but not be limited to, changes in our retail store technology requirements, changes in vulnerabilities as outlined by our information security partners, industry best practices, and improvements or efficiencies in new methodologies.
Establish and measure performance metrics that align with industry best practices and provide the most optimum solutions for our business.
Lead a small staff of technical experts through project and support assignments. This includes establishing objectives, giving timely feedback and coaching, along with providing annual performance reviews.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
7 years managerial experience in networking or telecom management
CCNA certification required

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or network engineering
10 years managerial experience in networking or telecom management
CISSP certification
Strong visionary leadership qualities - able to get others to buy-in and support ideas that may be a new / different approach than they are accustomed to.
Strong collaborations skills - demonstrates a willingness to listen to alternatives, but knows when to end debate and move forward.
Able to articulate highly technical information in a way that is consumable by both technical and non-technical audiences.ADDITIONAL DETAILS
