Job Description:
The Director of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) at Columbia Sportswear serves as the Enterprise Leader for global reporting, analytics, data integration, data governance, data quality, and related vendor relationships across the enterprise. This role partners with senior BI leaders in the business to create a single enterprise BI and governance strategy consisting of technical and non-technical pillars while driving effective, efficient operation of the technical delivery channels.

This position is accountable for multiple, highly technical teams tasked with managing and delivering data across the enterprise, for establishing common standards and for creating effective partnerships with all reporting delivery channels outside of Global Information Services (GIS). Successful candidates will be experienced in creating a clear, actionable strategy and in leading teams of independently capable technical managers in that strategy’s execution.

Success in this role requires strong leadership with the ability to effectively communicate and influence outcomes in a highly cross-functional and complex environment (matrix organization structure). Qualified candidates must possess the agility to engage at the executive level, ability to translate abstract concepts into defined objectives and the proven ability to drive for results.

Responsibilities
Serve as the Enterprise Leader for global information management, reporting and analytics, integrations, governance, quality, and related vendor relationships at Columbia Sportswear.
Create a clear, actionable technical strategy for Enterprise-wide information management across the enterprise, driving consistency and effectiveness to the EIM practice within GIS and in technical delivery channels outside of the GIS organization.
Partner with senior business leaders in each business function to create a single, enterprise BI and governance strategy consisting of technical and non-technical pillars.
Create the tactical framework for enterprise data management derived from an expert understanding of business process, data requirements and industry best practices.
Identify high value opportunities for information usage and communicate their value.
Maintain intimate understanding of business priorities and objectives related to this area of responsibility and establish effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders across the enterprise.
Partner with Data Architecture and technical management to optimize data and analytics architecture and design.
Establish effective, consistent technical delivery channels for all enterprise reporting and analytics functions.
Cultivate leadership, management skills and technical expertise within your teams while providing coaching, development plans and career paths to encourage the growth and retention of talent.
Develop strategic succession plans for yourself and key roles throughout your organization.
Establish clear, measureable management practices for vendors and data providers which allow the company to gauge the relative success of these providers and drive improvement where needed.
Plan and manage project and departmental budgets and forecasts.


Requirements
10+ years of progressively increasing management responsibility leading data, business intelligence, batch scheduling, reporting and analytics functions in a large enterprise environment.
Minimum 5 years leading technical managers responsible for their own functions.
Minimum 5 years leading teams of 20 - 40 people.
B.S. / B.A. required, MBA preferred.
Experience with SAP data structures, SAP BW, Cognos, Informatica and MS SQL or comparable enterprise-class data, reporting and analytics platforms.
Strong understanding of business intelligence/data warehouse principles and technology.
Demonstrated ability to obtain a thorough understanding of strategic business goals, craft an actionable technical direction in support of strategic business goals.
Capability to influence at various levels of the business, including executives, senior business leaders and non-technical audiences.
Provide thought leadership, developing new ideas/alternatives and ability to contribute to discussion of abstract concepts and translate into actionable projects.
Proven budget and cost management experience.
