Director Custom Analytics Marketing Effectiveness Nielsen San Francisco

Job Description:
Manage client relationships as they relate to marketing mix projects and lead a team in the scope, design and execution of marketing mix studies providing valuable insights and recommendations to support client’s strategic marketing and sales business initiatives.

Drive Client Value
Penetrates and establishes enduring client relationships with senior decision makers at clients by demonstrating on-going value through actionable recommendations to drive outcome at clients
Become trusted advisor to key client decision makers for marketing mix
Presents and facilitates discussions of findings and recommendations to client in a collaborative manner, leveraging resources across professional services

Analytics
Prepares and delivers integrated marketing mix analyses that enable clients to “take action” against strategic business issues
Designs analytical plans leveraging all available assets applicable to business issue, including market and industry knowledge
Champions new analytical methodologies and models that are more accurate, reliable and insightful; provides input to Product Leadership as needed.
Oversees and approves presentation story boards for marketing mix deliveries, including analytic framework.

Sets clear goals that create impact and drives results and holds individuals accountable to deliver against these goals.
Coaches and mentors others to facilitate performance improvement

Lead or actively participates in and identifies opportunities for efficiencies, automation, standardization and ways to simplify processes in marketing mix
Drive results of process improvement initiatives



Thought Leadership
Incorporates industry, consumer knowledge and insights into recommendations that help drive client strategic decisions.
Provides ideas and thoughtful insights into new ideas and initiatives for clients
Lead development of thought leadership ideas and materials that can be leveraged by the marketing mix practice area



Project Management/Client Deliverables
Prepares and provides accurate proposals, including cost and timing
Provides oversight to work-load, prioritizing and allocating resources as required
Responsible for timely and accurate delivery of output to meet client business needs
Sets appropriate timelines with internal or external clients in order to deliver against expectations.
Anticipates and identifies necessary resources and skills to support projects. Adjusts for problems and roadblocks.

This position will require approximately 30% travel.

E - College/University Undergraduate Degree or Master’s Degree

E - 8+ years of industry experience – Marketing Research, Consulting, Analytics, CPG

E - Proven track record in market research and project management

E - Success in leading complex client relationship(s)

E – Coaching and talent management

E – Innovative problem solving skills

E – Excellent communications skills

E – Demonstrated strength in analytical/logical reasoning

E – Ability to develop and implement a strategic plan/vision
