Director Commercial Sales VMware San Francisco

Job Description:
The Sales Director is responsible for providing sales leadership in implementing the Sales strategy and leading a team of Sales Reps who will be responsible for driving new business within the Commercial accounts in the territory. The successful candidate will possess strong experience in sales structuring, strategic sales management, strategic alliance development as well as the ability to oversee the ecosystem of indirect sales and its coexistence with direct sales. Reporting to the Regional Director, Commercial Emerging Segment, this role will be responsible for managing a team of up to 15 sales representatives.

Oversee day to day operations of the Account Teams by reviewing sales strategies, forecasts and participating in customer meetings
Oversee the creation and delivery of accurate quarterly and annual forecasts and account plans
Team leader providing professional leadership and coordination for sales team Emerging
Responsible for significant key partner relationship management and development
Recruit, hire and retain top talent
Assist in the development and review of TAS plans for top accounts in each region
Assist in the ongoing training of the sales team.

Experience Required

Minimum of 10 years experience in related software industry with at least 5 years in a selling role
Adept at managing numerous opportunities at the same time
Ability to grasp technology and communicate business value to a broad range of people
Documented track record of success
Experience managing in a matrixed environment
Experience, credibility, and presence that enables you to

work effectively at all levels within an organization
Familiarity with storage, networking and x86 servers
Ability to create and implement successful sales plans
Experience selling TCO and ROI business models to executives
Understanding of how to work and leverage partners
Familiarity with Target Account Selling or other established sales methodology
Ability to mentor and motivate sales representatives who

work remotely

Education
BA/BS degree in Marketing, Business, Finance or equivalent experience preferred

Travel

Estimated travel of between 30 and 50% depending on the density and size of the territory
