Director Automation Global Juniper Networks Sunnyvale

Job Description:
The qualified candidate will provide global support to Americas, APAC and EMEA specialized network automation consultants, supporting our internal and external customers’ network automation solutions. The chosen candidate will report to the Snr Director of the Center of Excellence group and will focus on Juniper’s automation portfolio and related technologies. The consulting team provides deep technical knowledge and architectural support to identified opportunities and theatre CoE teams, working directly with the Juniper field sales team that manage the opportunity. The consultant is expected to work with the local CoE teams to help them drive success in field accounts.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Deep operational knowledge that includes software architectures for tooling, orchestration and automation of network lifecycles.
Understanding of and operational experience with complex TCPIP networking.
Provide insight into long-range network requirements with a focus on orchestration and automation and improving performance and reliability
Strong familiarity with state of network technology, versed in virtualization, NSX, SDN, NFV and similar constructs
Deep knowledge of NetOps/DevOps current methodologies and the business challenges associated with today’s Enterprise and Service Provider network environments
Experience working with and creating APIs and understanding of data transport and serialization formats such as SOAP, XMLRPC, REST, JSON, XML, YAML
7+ years in scripting skills in one or more of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Perl, SLAX or equivalent interpreted language
Lead members of highly technical team
Provide automation and solution training to Juniper employees and partners
Proven technical sales skills and presentation skills
Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new technologies in both framework and technology advancements
Excellent writing and documentation skills with publication references.
Being a key role in the technical sales strategy of Juniper’s most strategic opportunities.
Work directly with Juniper partner sales teams and partner organizations
Evangelize Juniper’s automation vision and solution sets
Provide technical leadership and mentoring for automation solutions to our internal SE organization and select partner organizations.
Act as a liaison between Juniper product management, marketing, and sales teams
Develop and maintain full working business and technical mastery of the Juniper automation product portfolio
Be able to technically position Juniper solutions. Be able to create, document, and execute test plans
Assist with RFx response activity
Assist in development, upgrades and demonstration techniques in COE lab facilities to provide to our technical field staff.
Be a self-starter, eager to learn and highly motivated to develop personal skills and knowledge to enhance your individual career.
Up to 50% time within home theatre and 25/25% travel across other two theatres as needed.


EXPERIENCE

Typical number of years of experience in job; includes guidance around typical educational background

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field or equivalent experience. 

Juniper and other industry certifications are preferred. 

7-10+ years’ experience in technical/pre-sales support as a sales or systems engineer. 

14+ years’ experience in the service provider industry and/or large enterprise networks.
Networking, System Virtualization and Programming certifications are advantageous
