WebMD is seeking experienced digital media product management leader to help drive development and implementation of innovative, multi-screen / channel digital display, native, and programmatic advertising products optimized to deliver value to our clients, our consumer audience, or professional healthcare audience, and our business. This Director of Product Management will lead and mentor a team of product managers dedicated to designing and operationalizing new ad products and revenue delivery channels on the public portals while at the same time optimizing site ad monetization and yield in collaboration with senior business, marketing, sales, finance, operations, and technology leaders. Core functions will include defining or translating product needs, establishing a roadmap aligned with business and technology objectives, and then working with involved engineering and project teams to execute, deliver, and optimize.
A successful candidate will:
Lead the development of new products, features and enhancements across the digital media products portfolio for webmd.com, medscape.com, owned and operated sites, and our award winning mobile applications
Balance client, user, and yield requirements across the various display, native, direct-sold, and programmatic ad platforms
Participate and in some cases drive ad technology vendor selections and decisions in support of delivery, UX, and metrics needs
Improve our customer and readers’ experiences and interactions with our products through the use of metrics and research
Drive product prioritization and product management methodology for the business working with internal stakeholders
Regularly use customer feedback, metrics, market trends, and competitive analysis to help create premium ad products and features that deliver value to clients and users
Closely follow emerging technologies and industry trends particularly in mobile, video, social and user engagement
Have a strong grasp of online business models and work effectively and enthusiastically across multiple departments to accomplish goals
Establish strong, productive and collaborative internal relationships with business and sales leaders, engineering leaders and organization executives;
Be a passionate advocate for our products, our advertising, and our client value
Lead the organization on new and emerging advertising trends including the concept of yield, data driven marketing, viewability, advanced performance including conversion and ROI, native, programmatic, and other ad concepts
Demonstrate exceptional communication and presentation skills to executive, business and technical audiences
Desired Skills and Experience
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
8+ years managing digital products, preferably for a major media company, agency, or ad technology vendor
4+ years directly managing product management team or organization with proven record of coaching and mentorship
Deep expertise in bringing products to market in a digital environment
Actual experience or demonstrated acumen in digital media, including ad channels, ad configuration, ad serving, and ad technology
Demonstrated success in creating and innovating online products
Experience working closely and collaboratively with sales, marketing, design, engineering, operations, editorial and advertising teams
Strong technical background and comfort working within an agile development
Strong organizational skills, self-motivator and highly responsible
Execution focused with a demonstrated track record of getting things done in fast-paced environments
Passionate about creating and enhancing leading edge digital experiences for readers and advertisers alike
