Director Marketing Upstream Olympus Southborough

Job Description:
The Director of Upstream Marketing, Urology/Gynecology will develop and implement strategies and tactics focused on the successful commercial launch, penetration, and profitability of current and future products within the urology/gynecology portfolio. The incumbent will help lead the upstream marketing team in the creation and commercial justification of a product road map, the development of user requirements based on Voice of Customer feedback and clinical knowledge, and the execution of global launch plans that successfully achieve revenue and profit targets. Additionally, he/she will be an integral member of product development project meetings ensuring all products remain focused on customer needs and remain in alignment with the product road map. The incumbent is expected to forge strong partnerships with Healthcare Professionals within the worldwide urological surgery community HCP, the Olympus worldwide sales business center’s (SBCs), R&D, RA/QA, and Operations functions to establish user requirements, product specifications, potentials for revenue, profit, and market share.

These key metrics are used to decide on path for possible product commercialization. nIt is expected that he/she will independently develop a deep understanding of the market needs, market trends, competitive forces, and disruptive technologies. EOE M/F/D/V

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree is required; Master’s Degree is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of Marketing experience is preferred.
Minimum of 4 years experience in medical device marketing or engineering is preferred.
Technical Marketing experience is preferred.
Clinical training and experience is preferred.
Strong clinical knowledge and aptitude is essential.
Must be comfortable in working with physicians in an operating room environment.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to be comfortable in working with engineers and other technicians is necessary.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential.
Aptitude and experience in selling concepts and interfacing with senior level management, both internal and external, is desired.
Must be Comfortable in presenting to groups, both large and small.
Strong financial and strategic analytical skills are a plus.
Aptitude to review and negotiate Business Agreements is preferred.
Project Management experience and skills are necessary.
Must be a team player and team leader that prides oneself on collaboration.
Must be self motivated, autonomous individual with track record of meeting deadlines and goals.
Strong Business to Business marketing skills are essential.
Ability to travel up to 30% both within the domestic U.S & Internationally is a must.
