Job Description:
This position provides sales support and product expertise to sales field force as well as intermediaries within their assigned sales areas to drive sales. In addition, the Dental Product Director will work with Product, Finance, Marketing, and Service groups to develop and drive strategies to increase quote volume, closing ratios and persistency. The Dental Product Director will provide market insights to support and assist Product, Service and other development efforts to promote market leading innovations to Product and other partners within MetLife.
Functional Responsibilities
Work with assigned sales associates to achieve dental sales and persistency goals. Activities may include assisting in the development of business plans, associate training, prospecting support, customer issue resolution/acquisition or renewal strategies and intermediary interaction / education.
Work with partner organizations to coordinate strategies that drive growth and persistency.
Facilitate growth of product knowledge by providing training to assigned field associates and intermediaries across all market segments. The Dental Product Director will assist in the identification and the development of training topics to facilitate an understanding of MetLife’s Dental Products, including new product initiatives and service/operational capabilities.
Facilitate product knowledge by providing training and support to partner organizations.
Develop new business opportunities and sales growth by initiating and maintaining strong relationships with assigned sales representatives.
Be accountable for the sales and product support within assigned areas including participation in consultant/broker relations, prospecting and participation in finalist presentations as required.
Participation in Dental initiatives, projects, programs as directed by management.
Timely completion of reports including activities, progress and strategies.
Other duties as assigned or required by management.
Basic Requirements:
8+ years of experience in the Dental Insurance industry
5+ years of experience of marketing and/or sales experience within the group benefits marketplace
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
Specific knowledge of group dental insurance. Knowledge of the current group dental competitive marketplace a plus
Position requires analytical skills to identify issues and develop pertinent, responsive strategic solutions
Ability to effectively translate strategic plans and communicate to sales and other partner organizations through marketing and training programs
Ability to provide an effective presentation of Dental products and services to external and internal audiences
Ability to influence others, both externally and internally (within a matrix organization)
Ability to form strong relationships with internal and external parties
Leadership, coaching and project management skills
Must be able to work independently and effectively multi-task
Ability to work effectively under deadline driven environment within multiple project environment
