Job Description:
Oversee business development projects working within a very dynamic sector of digital publishing. Identify potential content partners. Structure, negotiate, and establish new deals with content creators, agents, publishers, and other rights holders and business development partners. Research and analyze relevant trends that will impact content acquisition. Contribute to development and drive strategy related to overall acquisition policy in collaboration with other key members of senior management. Coordinate with members of the Business Affairs department and other areas of the company to promote consistency regarding licensor communications. Act as liaison with Marketing, Merchandising, Meta-Data and Audiobook Production internal teams to ensure success for acquisition, retention, and revenue metrics.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field and five years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Five years of experience in the job offered or related occupation must involve: experience structuring, negotiating, and entering into intellectual property digital rights deals with creators, agents, publishers, and business development partners; closing significant digital rights deals; experience researching and analyzing trends that will impact content acquisition in the international publishing marketplace; managing projects within the content acquisition or business development department of a digital media company; and collaborating with cross-functional teams on significant digital rights deals ranging in worth from $1K to $2MM. May require 10% international and/or domestic travel.
