Director Program YMCA Riverview

Job Description
We are seeking a proven, self-motivated, cause-driven professional to join our Camp Cristina team (Riverview, Florida). Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director will manage the daily operations of the afterschool program, holiday camps, and Teen Leaders Club. During the summer, the Program Director will oversee Camp Cristina’s aquatic program that includes ensuring a safe and quality program for a pool and a lake. The Director will oversee the daily operations of the specialty camps during summer. S/he will be directly responsible for recruitment, training, supervision, retention, evaluation and coordination of part time staff in these program areas.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation management or related field and a minimum of two years experience in program management and staff supervision, preferably in camping. Prior lifeguarding experience preferred.

Must have strong administrative skills, be detailed oriented, extremely organized and be able to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will be a strong and effective communicator, both through verbal and written communications. The ideal candidate should enjoy working independently and will take initiative without being prompted.

Successful completion of cognitive and behavioral assessments, background screening and drug test. First Aid, CPR, AED and 02 obtained within first 30 days of employment and then maintained throughout employment.
