Job Description
MetLife is looking for a Group Products Life and Health (Life, Disability, Dental and Vision) Marketing Director to join a dynamic and award-winning team of individuals who are committed to putting the customer at the center of everything we do by making insurance smarter, easier and more accessible. As a Product Marketing Director, you will be managing relationships with many internal (e.g., Sales, Account Management, Underwriting, Campaign Management, Finance and Legal) and external customers (brokers and Third Party Administrators) and vendors. You will manage each of these relationships to develop and implement sophisticated and successful direct marketing campaigns for MetLife's Association and Affinity Group business.

In addition, you will have influence in defining the direction of cross-functional projects that will have substantial impact on MetLife Direct’s financial performance and how the brand is perceived in the marketplace. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to develop strong customer relationships will be crucial to success.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and define winning strategies for driving profitable sales within the Group Association and Affinity business.
Work with Finance and Underwriting to identify key success metrics for each product and customer type and manage campaigns to meet revenue and profitability expectations.
Develop and implement up sell and cross sell campaigns for existing customers to drive participation and program longevity.
Identify key external partners that can leverage or expand MetLife competencies and integrate them into the process
Work with internal database and marketing teams to develop customized and general product models for each product.
Apply traditional direct marketing tactics to understand campaign winners and losers and apply those learnings to future campaigns. Make data driven decisions.
Understand the competitive landscape and MetLife's value proposition.
Stay ahead of emerging technologies and up-to-date on innovative tech trends, leveraging that knowledge to deliver solutions that keep MetLife Direct ahead of the competitive landscape.
Champion the customer.
Collaborate with various subject matter experts and teams across the organization including Sales, Finance, Underwriting, Legal, Campaign Management, Market Research, Analytics, Account Management and Operations
Understand the entire customer experience from prospect to insured and work to ensure it meets customer expectations and facilitates purchase.
Leverage data-driven decisions
Ability to manage large budgets and innovate for cost savings.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required
10+ years of experience in Product Marketing,preferably within the financial service or insurance industries
3+ years of experience leading teams in a supervisory capacity
7+ years’ experience in Group Life, Disability, Dental and Vision products
7+ years’ experience in Group product marketing in the Association and Affinity marketplace.
Preferred competencies
Experience developing broad and deep communication strategy in the broad market - experience in the military marketplace is a plus.
Combination of traditional and non-traditional direct to consumer marketing experience
Ability to solicit and synthesize customer and market feedback for actionable recommendations on positioning, messaging, and product development
Experience analyzing product, customer, market dynamics and opportunities
Strong cross-functional collaborator with key stakeholders including Product Management, Marketing, Sales and Operations
Creative flair to bring fresh ideas into product positioning and marketing campaigns
Ability to create and foster a winning team culture.
Experience building integrated marketing campaigns that combines traditional (i.e., direct mail, email, print) and non-traditional (i.e., digital communication channels including display, retargeting, social media) communication channels.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (MBA preferred)
Outstanding communication skills, particularly the ability to convert complex ideas and quantitative data into simple messages
Proven ability to participate in and influence cross-functional teams
