Director Product Management Domestic Products DHL Weston

Job Description
The Director of Domestic Products will head the Domestic Product Management team and is responsible for developing and executing overall product strategy as related to DHL eCommerce’s portfolio of domestic shipping products and services. She/he will develop and manage domestic shipping solutions/products with an emphasis on servicing the fast moving eCommerce market.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage Product Management staff with concrete, established objectives
• Assure Senior Management alignment through regular product updates and dashboards.
• Conduct market research / gather industry intelligence / assess market trends and customer needs
• Attend sales calls, industry related conferences and meet with venders
• Conduct competitive landscape assessments and align product portfolio positioning
• Define, develop and implement new products and services
• Develop marketing communication objectives, collateral material and sales training
• Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure plans and timelines are achieved.
• Conduct product portfolio maintenance; adjust product specifications and portfolio as needed based on market and business needs.
• Develop product forecasting, P&L and trends; develop and track metrics
• Define product specifications, features, benefits and evidence documentation
• Develop, align and enforce product requirements and operational SLAs
• Manage customer integration requirements and documentation related to labeling, manifesting, sort codes, BOLs, shipment documentation, etc.)
• Develop sales strategies, targeting plans & product pricing strategy; align with senior management
• Provide direction to pricing regarding USPS rates and other costs; make sure pricing model is up to date with most recent internal and vender rates.
• Facilitate, sales training, support, coaching, and compliance management
• Guide organization as it relates to USPS rules, regulations and rates for parcel products including returns.
• Assess product implications / opportunities associated with annual USPS, FedEx, & UPS rate increases and product changes.
• Interface with customers, vendors and USPS on a regular basis to maintain current market knowledge.
• Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure plans and timelines are achieved.
• Work closely with vendors, Sales Management and Operations functions to achieve company goals and objectives.
• Manage related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to include delivery performance, cost per unit, sort qualification, destination entry discounts in order to assure compliance with product specifications; communicate performance gaps to respective departments.
• Ensure domestic technical specification documents are up-to-date. Submit IT change requests as needed.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Marketing or other related degree required
• MBA or other postgraduate degree preferred
• A minimum 6 years of product management experience and/or service.
• Business to Consumer (B2C) shipping experience preferred.
• Financial planning and strategy experience preferred
• USPS or related industry experience preferred
