Amazon.com is creating a new role responsible for leading the Product Management of Marketplace Listing Tools, Matching and Listing Quality. This senior leader will drive growth of the Amazon’s Product Selection at a high quality of Customer experience. They will provide organizational leadership for teams such as Sales, Account Management and Retail to guide programs around the most important growth aspects. The leader of these programs would need to demonstrate an ability to successfully drive growth across the P&L by defining strategic direction, producing and executing product and operating plans, developing innovative experiences for sellers, and leading a diverse cross-functional team to execute on those plans. This role is based in Seattle.
The ideal candidate should have experience building relationships with internal and external teams, creating a team of leaders, and the ability to deliver results. The person must be flexible but action-oriented, and they must be capable of dealing with ambiguity, have strong analytical skills, and be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The atmosphere is that of a new start-up that requires an innovative leader who moves quickly, obsesses over customers and loves using data to guide decisions and prioritization. The leader must also be willing to take calculated risks to drive the right seller behaviors without the fear of failing.
Background on the Amazon Marketplace: The Marketplace organization drives the “Selling on Amazon” business which exceeds 40% of the total Amazon.com platform sales and growing. The Marketplace team develops solutions that enable over 2.5 million sellers across 11 global Marketplaces. These solutions include the software platform and applications that enhance product listings and listing quality, demand generation, enable customer acquisition, seller integration, customer relationship management, business analytics, and the inventory and order management functions necessary for sellers to manage their business at Amazon.

One way we deliver on this vision is to have Sellers provide every product in the world, to every customer globally, at the highest quality with the minimal amount of work for the Seller. We have identified numerous technology and programmatic levers to drive the growth in Product Selection, Listing Quality and improvements to the Customer experience. We’re looking for a senior leader to build and guide a team in “doubling down” on these initiatives as well as identifying innovative initiatives to drive the business forward.
· 5+ years of experience in product management including multiple years of experience in building and launching technology-based products
· 5+ years of experience in people management
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to succinctly present complex information
· Bias for action and willingness to take risks coupled with strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Experience making things happen in a fast-paced dynamic environment
· Demonstrated business judgment as well as ability to think creatively, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements and prioritize
· Strong oral and written communication skills, a bias for action and a proven ability to influence others
A proven track record of delivering initiatives from conception through completion on time
· Computer Science or similar undergraduate or graduate degree
· Finance, Economics or similar undergraduate or graduate degree
· MBA, strategy consulting or other general management experience
· Track record of delivering innovative products and high-scale technology launches – e.g., millions of customers, thousands of transactions per second, milliseconds of latency
· Experience working with constrained resources and an ability to think creatively to accomplish the job
· Start-up or other entrepreneurial experience
