Job Description
This Director of Operations position will report within the Field Operations Standards team but is dedicated to the BPS business working directly with the BPS Zone Operations Managers, Operations Managers and Project Managers. This position will also be responsible for oversight of Energy Engineering and Performance Assurance activities throughout the Field organization. BPS National Operations Managers will report directly to this position.

The expectation of the position is to deliver the financial, customer, employee, and process related targets as defined by the annual business plan, targets defined by the BPS Business Line, and the Field Operations Standards department.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements BPS operations business plan to improve operations planning, organizing, and directing project management, development, FIM installation, commissioning and service activities for North America.

Provides operations and business management oversight to management teams at Division, Zone and Area levels. Leads or advises Zone and Area management on operations strategic and tactical planning including resource development and allocation, financial forecasting, monitoring and reporting, and issue resolution.

Provides recommendations to management on development and implementation of strategies aimed at increasing business growth and financial success; asset management, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction enhancements; and improving employee productivity, quality and safety.

Provides operations perspective in Division and Zone business planning, staff planning, training and development, account management, customer satisfaction and achievement of Division goals and objectives.

Reports to Division management on operational activities taken to meet budgeted revenues, gross margin dollars, and operating income for BPS business. Shares accountability with district managers on driving these areas.

Assists, guides and improves operations function in planning, organizing, directing and controlling of project management, design engineering, system installation, commissioning and service activities for region. Special emphasis is on process, standardization, quality, costs containment, new product and tool introduction, resource management, financial accountability, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

Coordinates and manages special projects with nationwide scope and impact. May manage or oversee management of operations-related aspects of business with corporate and key account customers across North America.

Coaches and counsels operations personnel and advises operations management on performance and development needs. Based on Division requirements and policies, mentors and supports BPS operations teams and individuals with project management, process improvement, proposal uniformity, forecasting, estimating, monitoring and recovery planning, particularly on large or key account operations activities.

Attends select division, Zone, and Area operations meetings.

Participates in implementation of Top+, best practices, national operations programs and other initiatives related to or impacting Division.

Serves on task forces or teams to develop and implement major programs, processes and cross-operating company projects.

Continues to improve technical competence of company's products, applications and services.

Maintains current knowledge of regulatory changes, laws and financial options available in market.

Represents Siemens in industry associations, professional organizations and affiliations and develops relationships with building, contractors and business community leaders.

Education, Experience and Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or operations management, or related field required.

Minimum of ten years industry experience including operations management or comparable role including strategic planning, contracting, project management, account management and all aspects of general business management. Ability to implement organizational and process change in response to business needs.

Strong listening, negotiating, verbal, and written communication skills needed.

Travel 50-80%
