Bachelor’s degree required in a related field with at least 7 years of progressive, relevant experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and relevant, progressive experience
5 years of Sysco sales experience preferred
Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets Company minimum standards
Must maintain current automobile insurance with the following limits Bodily injury $100,000 each person and $300,000 each accident; property damage of $100,000
Must be willing to sign a Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement
Certifications And/Or Technical Requirements
ServSafe certificate or ability to obtain in 90 days from employment required.
Abilities And Skills
Working knowledge of food service sales and merchandising principles, food sales industry, street/territory and program sales, and product lines sold by Sysco
Familiarization with customer service activities, interdepartmental communications an general finance concepts beneficial
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Familiarity of local industry trends and issues in the food service industry
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, portion cost, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume and add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to execute multiple initiatives autonomously
Ability to express information in terms of profit and loss, food cost and expense ratio
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
Ability to successfully engage and lead individual and team discussions and meetings.
Ability to apply all relevant policies in a consistent, timely and objective manner.
Capable of working with peers and associates from other departments and shifts in a proactive and constructive manner.
Understanding of Sysco’s key business metrics – preferred
Ability to handle multiple jobs, timelines and deadlines
Ability to prioritize, multi task, and shift priorities as necessary
Proactive and self-directed, yet able to work as part of a team
Strong analytical skills to assess available market research and trends in the market
Ability to work in a disciplined manner and capable of following established procedures, practices and comply with local, state and federal regulations.
Reports to work promptly and regularly; works well with others; demonstrates the ability to consistently meet deadlines.

Oversees and assists as needed with Customer reviews and follow ups
Oversees and assists as needed with the Business Development Specialist with account assignments, progress reports, evaluation and success rates
Will govern and maintain Sysco brand standards across all marketing activities.
Develops, promotes and maintains sales programs, working with top targeted territory and street accounts by providing Customer Business Reviews.
Monitors results of various sales activities and adjusts programs accordingly on the development of new and existing accounts.
Creates plans and specific goals for prospecting new customers, including exceptional and proven cold-calling techniques.
Designs content, prepares and educates customers and staff through Customer Connections, including but not limited to demonstration of culinary expertise, menu planning, menu analysis, inventory management and recipe development.
Develops and communicates specific programs to create a smooth transition for the customer when accounts are to be turned over to a Marketing Associate.
Educates and promotes resources, including but not limited to Sysco Business Ventures, Partners, Menu Analysis, Menu Pro, Hospitality Professionals and Sysco Brands.
Tests and evaluates new products or lines or products to assist Merchandising in determine appropriate products.
Develops new ideas and concepts for displaying and presenting products at trade shows, district sales meetings and other inside and outside promotions and shows.
Coordinates with Sales and Marketing teams to utilize resources in the most effective way to grow profitable sales.
Will be required to adjust local Business Resource plan to complement National Business Resource plan
