Director Jurisdictional Inspection Services Bureau Veritas Group Houston

Job Description
The Director of Jurisdictional Inspections reports to the VP of Operations. The primary purpose of the position is to expand the Jurisdictional Inspection Business by refining established operational process and procedures and by developing new business.

The Director is charged with implementation and execution of the above described services in agreement with VP Operations and the central business line team in Paris. He/she is also responsible for new businesses development, improvement and creation of operational processes, development and integration of cross selling solutions between related service lines.

Technically, in the Pressure Vessels inspections services market, the Director should have a credible background and knowledge of inspections services associated with Jurisdictional requirements including but not limited to frequency requirements and inspector credentials. A strong knowledge of boiler risk assessments and boiler and unfired pressure vessel inspections is required. The successful candidate may well come from an insurance company background with extensive experience in risk and loss prevention associated with boilers and related machinery.

In the business development arena, the Director will lead the Marketing and Sales function to include simultaneous efforts in development of national account programs, mass market initiatives and client portfolio management. Ideally the successful candidate will have established relationships with State Chief Boiler Inspectors and be a member of insurance industry groups or have otherwise established contacts.

From a leadership standpoint, the Director will have experience leading a medium sized group of employees, uniting them under a common purpose of achieving outstanding sales and operational results. The Director will identify and implement innovative ways to enhance and support the growth of the business. It is essential that the person selected for this critical role will have proven technical credibility, strategic & financial acumen, leadership, motivational and interpersonal/communication skills.

Additionally, the BU Director is required to recruit and staff qualified inspectors to retain and grow the business.

The ideal candidate will have a technical background with solid leadership skills and demonstrated financial management skills.
Related degree ideally in Business Management.
Capacity for learning the BV and I&F organization, business model and culture along with the BV I&F product portfolio
Extensive experience in operational responsibilities (P&L responsibilities)
