The Director International Tax Planning and Transfer Pricing will lead the international income tax planning, transfer pricing and audit defense functions and will be primarily responsible for the independent identification and implementation of strategic international effective tax rate and cash flow savings opportunities. This person will be responsible for leading the international compliance function and providing support to the tax provision team on the income tax provision. This person will also be responsible for the international tax aspects of acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations, and training, mentoring and developing other Tax department members. The Director International Tax Planning and Transfer Pricing will report directly to the VP-Tax.
Specific Accountabilities
Identification, research and implementation of both US and local country effective tax rate planning and cash flow savings opportunities and strategies
Maintenance of effective strategic relationships with business personnel and advisors to identify the Company's international tax exposures and opportunities
Provide support to the tax provision team and Director of Tax Operations. Key areas of support will be the understanding of Company's international tax profile from a US and local jurisdiction tax perspective and working with provision team to appropriately reflect in the quarterly and annual tax provisions.
Set audit policy for the international portions of the US federal return and all non-US returns, act as subject matter expert for audit issues on international returns
Responsible for worldwide transfer pricing policies, including identification of transfer pricing exposures for international supply chain; responsible for maintenance of intercompany agreements to support the supply chain; development of transfer pricing policies and leading the monitoring and implementation of those policies; coordination of global transfer pricing documentation and other compliance efforts (including BEPS-related transfer pricing requirements). Global transfer pricing will be coordinated with Director of Tax Operations.
Coordination of international tax authority controversy activities as well as assistance with IRS reviews of international tax issues.
Train, mentor and develop members of the Tax department; work with peers to maintain a positive team atmosphere
Performance of international tax due diligence for acquisition targets; identification of effective financing vehicles for acquisitions; integration and accounting analysis for acquisitions
Identification of effective divestiture structures
Work with the treasury, legal and accounting functions on reorganizations, acquisitions, divestitures, and tax planning implementation
Remain informed with respect to tax law developments and their impact on the Company
Includes some levels of domestic and international travel
Education, Experience, And Qualities Desired
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Accounting or Finance with an advanced degree in Tax is preferred. CPA license or JD is preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in either public accounting or industry accounting
Strong international tax technical skills and base of accounting skills
Strong analytical, verbal and written communication, people, and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and other stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, effectively prioritize, manage others, and meet deadlines
Supervisory and project management experience
Ability to grow and change with the organization
