Director Business Development SCS Ryder Alpharetta

Job Description
The primary function of Director of Business Development II is to lead the pursuit of new or expansion business. This is to understand, be able to describe, and correctly apply Ryder Supply Chain Services to the supply chain problems of new and existing customers. Ryder SCS classifies its services into four towers of service: Dedicated Contract Carriage (DCC), Transportation Management (TM), Warehousing (DM or WM) and Professional Services (Consulting, Logistics Engineering, IT services, Order Management). The DBD is directed primarily to sell any or all of these services to brand new customers, or expand an existing customer by selling services not currently provided. Examples being TM to a DCC customer (or vice versa), or Professional Services to a Warehouse customer.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of five years of experience in selling supply chain solutions and/or achieve quota attainment more than 3 times within a 60 month period or has been inducted into SCS Roundtable

Additional Requirements
MBA preferred. Excellent problem solving, listening, written and oral presentation skills required
Ability to work in a team environment and influence at multiple levels with internal and external customers is required
Travel up to 80% via automobile and commercial airline carrier
Responsibilities:
Create approach plans for new customers. Lead and team with marketing for approaches, collateral and opening strategies for new accounts
Lead the deal pursuit team. Create deal strategy
Create pursuit plan and proposal Plan of Attack
Administer pipeline and maintain sales pipeline data accurately and timely
Deal closing
Deal contract negotiation
Thorough understanding services costing, pricing and value
Creation of price strategy
Adhere to Ryder's Policies and Procedures including Travel and Expense Policy
