Senior Director Alliances - SAP Job Overview: The ‘Senior Director of Alliances (SAP) is responsible for managing and growing the relationship with one of our key strategic partners, SAP. This individual will develop and manage the overall global business relationship between SAP and Hitachi Data Systems as well as work as a liaison with Hitachi to help drive consolidation of all Hitachi efforts around SAP. This position exists to create and drive revenue opportunities by managing the overall business alliance partnership, development, execution and cross-functional coordination of the SAP business for HDS / Hitachi globally.
This position acts as the coordination point for the SAP partnership that supports market share growth for our HDS and our go to market partners. The individual will be expected to be the resident expert regarding alliance partners, including their market segments, customer lifecycle, sales processes, competitive landscape, complimentary solution capabilities and key stakeholders in order to develop and execute on a strategic business plan. The candidate will leverage their experience in building and managing strategic technology partnerships and take a pro-active approach in driving the company's growth in a coordinated ‘sell with or sell through’ fashion with SAP and its’ ecosystem partners. A successful individual will be able to informally lead colleagues in product management, sales and supporting functions in the development and execution of a coordinated partner growth strategy. Specifically, the individual will develop senior level relationships with SAP and its partners, working across all business development and sales teams, and all other facets of our business to create mutually beneficial relationships. Success will be measured through development of a strategic roadmap, tactical execution of initiatives, strategic wins, and overall market share/revenue growth. Job Functions 1. Build and maintain a 3 year SAP strategic business plan and obtain buy in and approval from executive teams as well as other cross functional teams responsible for execution of this plan 2. Become the trusted advisor within the various SAP organizations and executive teams to create product and solution revenue opportunities for HDS / Hitachi account teams 3. Drive business development efforts, alignment and knowledge of SAP products and initiatives into HDS / Hitachi and Hitachi technologies into SAP 4. Work with the SAP eco-system. Build executive level relationships to decision makers to drive incremental revenue with such new partners for HDS for both hardware and services 5. Create and orchestrate innovative partnering opportunities and models to sell and deliver integrated capabilities and services 6. Coordination of product and solution roadmaps, market plans and strategies ensuring effective communication and support from all functional areas 7. Coordinate market revenue process achieving accurate forecasts and consistency with market strategy 8. Qualifications • 15+ years of work experience with progressive responsibility in field sales, channel sales, or business development • Bachelor’s degree in related field required; MBA or PhD strongly preferred • 10+ years of work with SAP or its eco-system strongly preferred • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing budgets required • Solutions sales experience required • Strong leadership and communication skills, as well as strong team and interpersonal skills • Very strong organization, program management and execution skills • Exceptional business acuity, technology prowess and strategic analysis skills • Previous consulting, product management, alliances, sales/marketing and/or business analyst experience • Experience with storage solutions, software applications and data center operations • Demonstrated ability to sell and close business deals • Excellent communication, presentation, and demonstrated analytical skills Other: • Extensive travel required • Preferred Locations: SFO Bay Area
