Role Description
There are 65M adults in the US between the ages of 50-64 - ~23M of which are considered by the CDC to be 'at-risk' for vaccine preventable disease. Immunization rates in this cohort are unacceptably low, leading to high morbidity, mortality and expense to the US healthcare system. The Director of 50-64 Strategy, will have responsibility for developing the Adult franchise strategic and tactical plans designed to ensure that HCPs, adults, IDNs and payers understand and are motivated by the value of both adult (broadly) and pneumococcal vaccination within this cohort and have the tools and resources necessary to make it a preventative priority.
To achieve this objective, the Director will develop a plan consisting of branded (Prevnar 13) and unbranded (adult and/or pneumococcal disease awareness) strategies/tactics and will leverage outcomes and real-world data to support the value proposition for immunizing this cohort of adults. Further, the Director of 50-64 strategy will work across the adult franchise and all supporting functions to leverage all necessary resources to meet both business and public health needs in this adult cohort.
Responsibilities
The Director of 50-64 Strategy will:
*Develop the insights by customer/channel necessary to construct the strategic plan and tactical plans
*Identify opportunities for partnerships and programs across all relevant channels (HCP, Consumer, Payer) customers (pharmacy, IDNs, PBGs) and partners including; trade and medical associations, patient advocacy organizations and technology companies
*Work closely with the Adult Marketing Team Leads and their respective channel leads to ensure that the strategic plan is aligned across channels and customer types and does not impact current activity in the 65+ cohort
*Work with US Medical Affairs and Global Health and Value to establish the clinical and economic rationale for vaccinating 50-64 year olds
*Support the market shaping goals of creating significant and sustainable growth in the adult immunization market for both business and public health benefits
*Operate in an environment that continuously embraces and encourages the implementation of innovative ideas and creates a culture of collaboration and teamwork across functional teams
*Build relationships both internally and externally to support execution of the plan
*Work effectively across the adult team to ensure efficient and effective implementation of the tactical plan
*Prioritize activities that are most likely to result in large change
Other key efforts required:
*Support other US Vaccines teams to deliver the overall plan
*Provide relevant US market insight and information to the Global Asset Teams as needed.
*Conduct all responsibilities in accordance with Company policies, with a strong adherence to our Values including compliance
Qualifications
Experience:
*BA or BS required; MBA preferred
*7-10 years marketing experience is required including significant pharmaceutical marketing experience; Preference for vaccines experience, although not required
*Experience with HCP, patient and payer marketing
*Familiarity with US marketing landscape including individual HCP's, medical groups/integrated delivery networks, payers, and patient types
*Successful candidate must have demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication and presentation skills.
*The ability to balance the need for fast impact with the recognition that some market change takes time
