Lorna Jane USA is currently seeking a Director of Retail Shops to lead and connect the shop teams, through District Leadership and Shop Leadership, to the Company vision, mission, and goals by Growing the Business, Driving Execution, Acting like and Owner, and Leading People to Succeed.
This key leadership role’s primary focus is driving profitable sales growth strategies, employee leadership and engagement, and delivering a “best in class” in-store experience to all who touch the Brand internally and externally. This role is a critical member of the USA leadership team, contributing to national strategies and collaborating with cross functional leader peers.



The US Director of Retail Shops provides continuous direction to District Leadership to ensure consistency in retail operational priorities and the flawless execution of those priorities. This role is responsible for hiring, developing, and driving the accountability of field leadership talent to create a consistent Customer and Team Member experience across all USA shops.



This role is key in developing, executing, and driving solid national retail channel strategy and vision, while ensuring positive comparative growth. The Director of Retail Shops will play an integral part in the Brand’s strategy for opening new locations, and leading the strategic planning and execution of new shop plans to ensure operational consistency in line with the Company’s mission and values, whilst positioning new locations for continued growth and future success.



Key Responsibilities:



PEOPLE

Lead and develop a dynamic team of District Leaders across the US

Lead and partner with HR to develop the People strategy; with a keen focus on the retention, engagement, development, and procurement of top talent

Lead the evolution of the Lorna Jane Brand culture and the Active Living Philosophy

Inspire Teams to consistently meet and exceed business objectives and goals

Lead cross functional business partners in a matrix organization and mobilize resources to positively drive the business to meet and/or exceed both individual and Retail Channel goals

Develop talent and drive actionable succession plans

Any and all other duties as assigned



SALES & MARKETING

Develop and drive profitable sales growth strategies: top line revenue and gross margin growth
Influence and lead shop strategies to drive new shop revenue and comparative sales and continue to gain market share
Deliver best in class branded in-store experiences
Lead a culture that thinks and acts with the Customer First attitude
Ensure field Teams understand merchandising, marketing, stock, and the Customer Experience vision
Influence marketing and active strategies for stores in partnership with the Director of Brand & Marketing – USA
Ensure creative and effective execution of Company merchandising and marketing strategies


STOCK & OPERATIONS

Partner with Director of Operations – USA to ensure tools and resources are in place to deliver desired results and sustain growth
Influence merchandising and inventory strategies for stores in partnership with the Director of Operations – USA
Drive operational excellence through leadership and driving accountability
Analyze retail business and determine needed actions, partnering with the appropriate peers across the National and Global business
Manage budget for the Retail Channel
Evolve productivity through implementing best practices and continuous learning initiatives
Resolve escalated issues, including human resources and loss prevention issues, reviewing trends and strategies, and partnering with peers and Executive Leadership on timely, solution-focused resolutions

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business, Retail Management, or Merchandising, or equivalent combination of education and experience

7-10+ years in retail multi-shop supervisory experience

Demonstrated ability to lead compelling multi-function vision to support the business strategy and show value of functions operating together

Capable of staffing, developing, and managing the performance of a diverse leadership team

Demonstrated ability to create an organization that is engaged and committed to the business and exemplifies Lorna Jane’s values, ethics, and behaviors

Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment and manage internal and external stakeholders effectively

Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and initiatives in constantly evolving market
Strong understanding of brand building, consumer insight, and product pipelines processes
Ability to travel (50-75%)
