Job Description
The Director of Marketing reports to the President and is responsible for planning, development and implementation of all of the organization's marketing strategies, marketing communications, product management and public relations activities, both external and internal. Oversees development and implementation of support materials and services aligned with corporate strategies in the area of marketing, communications, product management and public relations. Directs the efforts of the marketing, communications and public relations staff and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the organization. The Director of Marketing participates with Ricoh Imaging Americas leadership team to promote cross-company collaboration


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing, Communication, Product Management And Public Relations

Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance the organization's image and position within the marketplace and the general public.
Lead, report and share product management process including new product introductions, training, education, sales support and industry data. Manage the use of industry data resources such as NPD, Gap Intelligence and other data sources.
Identify, plan and execute comprehensive web strategies including brand initiatives, engagement forum and ecommerce solutions for Ricoh Imaging products. Manage the overall web integration for a single website to provide branding, ecommerce and forum activities while managing partner relationships for shopping cart and 3PL fulfilment.
Facilitate internal and external communications; all company marketing, communications and public relations activities and materials including publications, web content, web store, media relations, sales support, training, etc.
Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all company communication assets.
Coordinate media interest in the organization and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.
Coordinate the appearance of all organization print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, aligned with Ricoh Corporation guidelines and direction.
Ensure that the Organization regularly conducts relevant market research and coordinates, oversees, and monitors trends and shares findings with WHQ in Japan.
Leads projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events.

Planning And Budgeting (ROI)

Responsible for the achievement of marketing/communications/public relations mission, goals and financial objectives. Ensure that evaluation systems are in place related to these goals and objectives and report progress to the Executive board at PRAC and PRI in Japan. Develop and maintain a clear ROI model for all spending.
Develop short- and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing/communications/public relations program and its activities, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
Recommend, set and manage short- and long-term financial goals and objectives with the Executive board at PRAC and PRI in Japan.
Develop, implement and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing, communications, product management and public relations function.
Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing, communications and public relations, driven by ROI analysis, and the specific business of the organization and use this information to help the organization operate with initiative, innovation and a clear return on investment (ROI).

Organizational Strategy

Work with leadership team, PRI Japan, PRCA (Canada), PRFR (Europe) and other staff to develop and maintain a strategic perspective -- based on marketplace and basic needs and satisfaction -- in organizational direction, program and services, and decision-making; and, ensure the overall health and vitality of the organization.
Help make sure that the organization's philosophy, mission and vision are pertinent and practiced throughout the organization, as well as aligned with global initiatives.
Develop and coordinate means to seek regular input from the organization's key constituencies regarding the quality of programs and services and the organization's relevance.
Help formulate and administer policies to ensure the integrity of the organization.
Act as an internal consultant to bring attention and solutions to institutional priorities

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, And Certifications)

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications or related job experience required. Master's degree preferred.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
