Summary Of Responsibilities
This position is responsible for owning and managing the Project / Program Management Office including PMs, BAs and Testing resources which will drive all key initiatives for the US Direct Business. This individual is also responsible for managing alignment across key stakeholders in Ops Business Integration. This role will directly support the leader of Business Integration with a focus on owning key tactical projects and their execution as well as assisting the continued maturity of the Business Integration organization.
This individual will ensure all deliverables are met within day to day implementation efforts using an ability to partner across functions and core project management discipline. This individual will also use process improvement and analytical experience to assist in efforts needed to enhance the business. Finally, this role will mandate clear, timely and accurate communication and reporting to leadership as well as to stakeholders to ensure clarity of progress against targets. This is a vital role needed to ensure the success of the Business Integration area as well as Ops and USD overall.

Functional Responsibilities

Reporting to an Officer or AVP, this individual manages, coaches, and develops personnel involved in managing projects to implement new and/or modified processes, procedures, and/or initiatives
Translates senior management vision and develops department vision, strategy, service levels, and business objectives. Communicates vision and strategy to staff
Partners with other operational areas to build strong working relations and improve workflow and organizational alignment
Forecasts and monitors the budget for areas of responsibility
Manages critical relationships with consultants and vendors, internal end users, and business customers/leadership
Designs, implements, and monitors the progress of initiatives, milestones, and budgets to ensure timeliness and deliverables are met
Provides updates to senior business leadership regarding project status and the application and implementation of new or revised procedures, processes, and/or initiatives

Principal Responsibilities

Own and manage the project management office within business integration
Own and manage key programs of work within the US Direct Business
Assist in day to day business integration activities within the US Direct business
Assist in day to day process management activities within the US Direct business
Develop and deliver presentations for senior management
Oversee other efforts needed for business enhancements (Speed, Quality, Cost, Risk)

Required Experience
12+ years of related work experience
12+ years of full people management responsibility, including hiring, firing, promotions, performance and compensation management, & training & development.


Preferred Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
Advanced Degree Highly preferred
Seasoned leader
Advanced knowledge of the supported business functions, processes/procedures, workflow, systems, and transactions
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Effective at developing and maintaining key business relationships
Strong project management capabilities
Strong strategy and planning skills
Familiarity with general insurance administration systems and work flows
Strong understanding of insurance products
Detail orientation and organizational skills
Tenacious with follow-up
Strong software skills in the following programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project
Ability to travel 25%
