Director - Personnel - U.S. House of Representatives - Washington
Job description
Seeking a Director of Personnel, who would be responsible for all personnel activities covering professional staff including, providing leadership and accountability for the daily personnel management operations of the office. The successful candidate assures stakeholders that the human resources and personnel management requirements of the office are measured in a manner consistent with the mission and requirements of the organization.
The position
requires the ability to research, investigate and compile reports and recommendations on projects, while providing foresight and leadership in the advancement of personnel
management initiatives. The position requires detailed and authoritative knowledge of human resources, personnel, and organizational management principles, plus ten years or
more of progressively responsible experience.
The successful candidate must be able to prepare, review, maintain, amend, and interpret personnel rules and regulations. The ability to review grievances and conduct inquiries involving compliance, as well as the ability to analyze various wage and employee benefits surveys is required. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of settings. A Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in a management or related field and an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities is required.
