Position Description
The Global Vertical Market Leader -Oil & Gas Market will primarily drive growth, identify new opportunities and support capture activities for HPS' Projects & Automation Solutions LOB, specifically supporting the Oil & Gas market; and will lead a team of global customer marketing consultants, with focus on using technical consulting skills to help customers see the value that Honeywell's portfolio of offerings can deliver.
With this team, the Leader should also be able to continually assess portfolio opportunities and needs in this market and input into research and technology development to enhance our portfolio offerings specific to end-user needs in the Oil & Gas vertical.
The successful candidate will have a strong background and demonstrated record of driving growth in the Oil and Gas market and demonstrated global leadership capability.
Specific Responsibilities Will Include
• Planning, development, and implementation of effective business development strategies and policies. This will involve working with Competitive Intelligence to maintain and develop key insights on competitor activities; understand trends in the Oil and Gas market across different geographies and identifying the different needs based segments that the major oil and gas producers comprise.
• Developing and leading pricing strategy for Oil & Gas. Develop and maintain data to successfully implement pricing targets to increase win rate in competitive situations globally.
• Leading Research and analysis of environmental and competitive conditions, customer needs, and market trends.
• Coordinating with Product Managers to develop solutions that will drive profitable growth in the Oil and Gas Market. Provide the market insights and business case justification that will guide and prioritize the product manager's research and development plans.
• Designing strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and ensures that strategic plans complement market place needs.
• Identifying and developing supplier/partner alliances and customer relationships to further expand business development opportunities at all levels.
• Linking up with Sales to provide them with specific value propositions and offerings for the targeted customer segments that are consistent with the sales regional business plans. Contribute to training sales on new solutions and value propositions and are crisp and actionable and clearly articulate how Honeywell's offering differentiates from the next best alternatives.
• Working with sales to meet quarterly and annual orders targets identified for the Oil and Gas market, broken out by region. Develop strategies and contingency plans to achieve these AOP targets.
• Networking with industry leaders and builds relationships to facilitate expanded sales opportunities.
• Preparing appropriate marketing campaigns and supporting plans and collateral specific to the upstream market to meet business goals
• Working with MARCOM to drive results. Help define and articulate the Honeywell 'Brand" as it relates to the Oil and gas market and develop an effective MARCOM strategy for ensuring this message is broadcast across the target regions. Develop and support pipeline of press releases and case studies that can effectively demonstrate Honeywell's capability in the Oil and Gas market. Ensure that marketing activities are cost effective, efficient, and within established budget constraints.
• Ensuring that Business and Marketing plans, goals, and policies are consistent with established Company-wide goals.
• Maintaining, documenting and disseminating knowledge about industry trends, opportunities, channels and competitors to support business development opportunities.
Requires frequent interaction with other sales and marketing members, operations, and functional support such as contracts, pricing, human resources, legal, and safety. Expected to brief senior level executives within the target customer community.

Qualifications/ Experience
• Bachelor's degree in engineering/other technical degree with an MBA preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years' experience in an Oil and Gas related field (Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Strategic Marketing, etc.)
• A minimum of 3 years in a similar leadership role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of business impact of process control automation.
• Thorough knowledge of market penetration strategies and market development strategies and techniques
• Ability to develop and implement effective communication plans for internal/external customers
Additional Qualifications
• Master degree preferred.
• Proven effectiveness in a highly matrixed environment
• Global team leadership experience preferred
