About The Position
Seeking highly motivated individual to manage Junipers R&D Hardware Labs developing the industry leading edge Routers, Switches, Security, and Data Center products and solutions worldwide.
Responsibilities:
Setup, maintain and manage the Engineering (Hardware, DVT, and Compliance) Lab environments with opportunity for continuous enhancements of Engineering Lab environment.
Configure, document and maintain lab equipment, 3rd party SW, and network infrastructure for the Engineering (Hardware, DVT, and Compliance) lab including asset management, asset reservation and asset utilization.
Coordinate the replication of lab and network environments for engineers (Hardware, DVT, and Compliance).
Coordinate calibration and repairs of Test Equipment and DVT chambers.
Document operations manuals and procedures for and maintaining all equipment in the Engineering Lab.
Ensure all aspects of the lab infrastructures are operating seamlessly to enable engineers to perform their jobs
Plan, architect and lead improvements in Engineering Lab Infrastructure and produce systems that are scalable and evaluate and recommend new hardware or software as necessary.
Work in a heterogeneous lab environment containing diverse network infrastructure, lab equipment and servers and make them all work together or independently as necessary.
Work with Facilities, Real Estate, and IT to coordinate and drive periodic lab maintenance and upgrades, air-conditioning and new circuit installation/repair as necessary.
TL9000 process owner for Lab Policy, ESD, and Calibration.
Minimum Qualifications:
AA, AS, or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
5 years of strong operational experience with setting up and maintaining an Engineering Lab
Ability to Plan, Forecast, and Manage the Engineering lab budget (CapEx and OpEx) and handle associated needs like cables, tools, safety equipment, and propose recommendations to senior management on optimal lab utilization.
Ability to procure, manage and support lab equipment, networks and network hardware
Highly organized, flexible and can-do attitude.
Excellent problem investigation and resolution skills
Ability to work in a fast paced ever changing environment, coordinating activities with stakeholders and upper management.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of Strong network and system administration experience with exposure to handling switches, console servers, routers, lab devices.
Ability to drive and influence best practices amongst your peers
ISO 9000 or TL9000 audit experience implementing Preventative and Corrective Actions
