Warner Bros. Consumer Products Inc. seeks a Director, Franchise Management & Marketing for the Franchise Management & Marketing department. Position develops worldwide strategic Franchise Plans for WBCP for the multiple demos across Live Action, Television and Vault properties under leadership of VP/Supervisor. Creates worldwide Franchise positioning and strategy for Franchise/Properties and consumer segment of business (e.g. Teens, Kids and Superfans). Collaborates with Category, Sales, Creative/Product Development, Legal and Business Planning teams. Works collaboratively with Integrated Theatrical Marketing and TV Marketing. Leads development and execution of marketing strategies and tactics to support tentpoles and emerging franchise opportunities in conjunction with Category Management and Retail Sales teams and under the direct supervision of VP. Develops programs that drive brand awareness and relevancy as well as all communication and marketing tools to achieve collective goals.

The position calls for strategic, innovative and creative thinking, continuous planning, and exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Position includes oversight for manager level employee. The position also authors all plans and oversees the development and execution of supporting tactics for assigned Franchises/Properties. Role serves as the day-to-day liaison for assigned Franchises/Properties with WB Theatrical Pictures, WB TV and members of these respective teams to ensure WBCP priorities are achieved in a cross-collaborative fashion.
Job Requirements:
Develops, manages and presents marketing plans and brand guidelines for assigned franchises/properties. Marketing plans to include: property objectives, strategies, tactics, brand values and guidelines, retail thematics and sell in tools, marketing programs and associated budgets.
Identifies and brainstorms unique ideas and executable programs to drive innovative marketing plans.
Works to develop cohesive and synergistic plans across all disciplines within WBCP (Retail, Sales, Creative, Product Development, etc.)
Drives the following activities for assigned properties:
Oversees day-to-day management of properties.
Ensures that all marketing plans are designed and implemented to meet specific measurable goals (short term and long term).
Coordinates with all WBCP departments to develop cohesive marketing initiatives, including but not limited to promotional activities, trade and/or consumer promotions, advertising and other activities.
Works with sales teams to identify incremental business opportunities and to increase sell-in and sell-thru of licensed products.
Works with Sales & Retail Business Development team to ensure brand placement and presence at retail is maximized.
Works closely with international offices to support regional implementation of marketing strategies. Present all property initiatives and marketing plans, either in person or via conference call.
Ensures the worldwide distribution of information and materials on a timely basis.
Participates in licensee meetings, when appropriate.
Partners with sales to support global licensees and develops best practice strategies to support global and local partners in all categories.
Recommends and implements market research where appropriate. Manages annual tracking studies related to assigned properties.
Manages annual budget and quarterly financial reporting on expenditures.
Builds and maintains relationship with applicable colleagues in sister divisions: TV, Interactive, Digital, WHE, etc. to establish a reliable and timely flow of information and materials related to assigned properties.
Works collaboratively with sales, creative and sales to determine creative strategy for property style guides.
Carries out other duties as assigned by the Vice President or Senior Vice President.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
MBA—is a plus.
Minimum 7-10 years experience in related field required.
Minimum 3 years experience in managing licensees, agents and/or staff required.
International business or marketing experience preferred .
Brand management experience is strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency required.
Effective and proven management and interpersonal skills are critical.
Must have sound understanding of marketing principles and brand management.
Must have a clear understanding of the dynamics and needs of licensing.
Must have effective communication and presentation skills.
Must be well organized with effective and proven planning and follow-through skills.
Fluent command of the English language required; second language is preferred.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with persons on all levels, in person and on the telephone.
Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written and oral instructions.
Must have the ability to organize, schedule and prioritize work effectively.
Must have the ability to work well under time constraints.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
