Director - Marketing Digital Channels - Sun Life Financial - Waterloo
Job description
The Director, Marketing, Digital Strategy is a key member of the Marketing and Client Engagement team accountable for leading the development, planning, management and implementation of the Individual Digital Strategy to enhance the customer experience, deliver a competitive advantage for Sun Life’s Individual Insurance and Wealth business and ensure alignment with business strategy and operational business needs.
Major Accountabilities
Lead Individual Insurance and Wealth’s Integrated Digital Strategy working with a cross-functional team of internal stakeholders from Product, Distribution, CSF, Marketing, Operations, SLGI, IT and MarCom including:
The current state assessment of our advisor and customer journeys to identify opportunities to leverage digital technologies to enhance the customer experience and drive operational efficiencies
The development of a digital strategy aligned with the Individual business strategy and operational needs
The planning, management and implementation of a multi-year Digital road map
Secure executive agreement and funding for the Digital Strategy direction, scope and implementation of the road map
Ensure financial management, tracking and measurement of all key business activities within the Digital Strategy execution/program
Build and manage relationships with key partners at all levels, including senior executives
Partner effectively with Enterprise Services IT to deliver integrated digital solutions, meeting business needs and ensuring alignment to the IT strategic plan that supports the evolving needs of the Individual Insurance and Wealth business
Monitor the external environment and industry to stay current with the latest Digital trends and innovations.
Participate as an active member of the Marketing and Client Engagement Leadership team to differentiate Sun Life as an innovator and thought leader and contribute to the growth of our Individual Insurance and Wealth business
Specialized Knowledge/Skills
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills allowing to draw insights from complex and large set of data and information
Strong knowledge of Digital channels for communications and operational efficiencies
Proven experience in working with IT Teams on Digital Technology projects
Sound understanding of customer and advisor journeys in their link with the IT and digital processes and systems
Strong leadership capabilities with experience in delivery of large projects and leading execution streams across functional teams and business areas
Results-oriented leader, pro-active capable of working independently or as part of a team
Strong interpersonal skills and skilled at influencing and negotiating
Executive level influencing, negotiation and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
Education and Experience
A university degree with a major in Business, IT or Marketing
A seasoned IT or Business professional with 7-10 years experience working in a cross-functional environment to build strategy and deliver large scale projects
