Job description
Oversee the Insurance Data Program comprised of 3 key functions i.e. Data Strategy & Governance, Data Operations and Data Stewardship.
Job Accountabilities
Drive implementation/adoption of the insurance data strategy, operations and roadmap.
Align strategy with overall IDS strategic plan.
In conjunction with the data acquisition team, legal and technology, plan and develop an insurance
Data stewardship program including a comprehensive system to document data sources used by Insurance.
Includes central resource for Insurance to locate internal data assets as needed by the vertical, product and analytics team members.
Be the trusted resource of data and its approved uses.
Create a central repository of the data and usage rights for Insurance.
Take a proactive approach across Insurance.
Understand our businesses and appropriately prioritize data activities to best serve business needs.
Work with the data acquisition team to ensure there are set data standards and procedures to ensure Insurance wide quality and integration.
Monitor and enforce data policies, procedures and standards.
Identify gaps in compliance and work with data owners/custodians to put plans in place.
Ensure that Insurance data program tracks data issues and drive resolutions in a timely manner.
Measure data quality and report results.
Define and launch improvement efforts to continuously improve those results.
Leverages best practices and share within the insurance team and across the risk business.
Participate in all data governance councils and/or committees representing Insurance
Ensure that data owners are routinely assessing data against business needs and reporting appropriate KPIs.
Develop and facilitate or deliver training required to implement plans.
Directly manage a team of directs and works across functions and teams to drive key projects.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree with 5+ years experience
Proven track record of developing and implementing data governance, stewardship and operations process and procedures.
Global experience preferred.
Strong systems aptitude, able to identify opportunities to leverage technology as a productivity enabler.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to work effectively with all levels of the organization and geographically disbursed teams.
Employs a collaborative skill set with demonstrated ability to influence outcomes in a cross-functional, matrix organization.
Ability to work independently as well as in team environment
Highly motivated self-starter, driven for results, effective at prioritizing and managing complex initiatives concurrently
Expert MS office skills to include Visio, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Ability to conform into presentations, processes flow charts and statuses.
Demonstrated ability to develop and oversee strategic solutions
Demonstrated managerial diplomacy in resolving issues/conflicts internally and externally
Ability to drive change
Process Improvement background, Six Sigma Green Belt Preferred.
