Job description
The Director, Immunology Marketing is a member of the Sandoz Biopharmaceuticals US Commercial team and is responsible for commercial activities which will maximize the launch, net sales and market share of our US biosimilar pipeline, including etanercept, adalimumab, rituximab, and additional pipeline molecules.
S/he will contribute to the development and execution of the overall US business plans for immunology launches, with specific responsibility for leading the development and execution of elements of the annual marketing plan. In addition the Director, Immunology Marketing will contribute to the development of specific segmentation and business plans in order to create meaningful positioning, profitable access and optimize sales and market share with key customers in the immunology market. Focus will be on establishing an early strategic entry point into the US market via these customers, and then driving sales and market share in order to maximize the opportunity.
The Director, Immunology Marketing will also be a member of the cross-functional US/Global launch teams for each of these biosimilar products.
The Director, Immunology Marketing reports to the Franchise Head for Immunology and Nephrology.
The scope of responsibilities for the Director, Immunology Marketing will be strategic and operational in nature. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
Contribute to the development and execution of the therapeutic area strategies and annual marketing plans
Comprehensive understanding of the various autoimmune markets, biologic therapeutics, and competitive dynamics including use of products, competitors, identification of brand growth opportunities, as well as threats
Ensure development and successful execution of differentiating and compelling brand promotion (i.e., brand positioning, messaging, promotional tactics, etc.) for US market
Manage the overall promotional budget for the products, including prioritization of select tactics which will drive optimal brand pull through for US market
Contribute to the development and successful execution of the brand life cycle management plans as it relates to the US market
Contribute to the development and execution of a US business plan in order to maximize the launches into the various therapeutic areas and indications
Contribute to the strategic segmentation of the US immunology markets (rheumatology, dermatology, gastroenterology) and identification of target customers
Work cross-functionally with team members to develop and execute innovative strategies and tactics that will drive brand growth of the immunology products
Lead the US Sandoz organization as a key point of contact for information and expertise as it relates to the immunology market and customers
Build and maintain solid relationships with key external stakeholders such as thought leaders, provider organizations, and other key external customers
Serve as the internal commercial subject matter expert regarding the autoimmune market, anti-TNF products and customers
Maintain effective leadership and communication with executive management and the Sandoz Biopharmaceutical leadership team on critical issues
Contribute to ensuring US launch readiness as a member of the cross-functional US/Global launch teams
Ensure operational excellence for product supply in the US market
Operationally ensure appropriate commercial product supply through cross-functional collaboration with Supply Chain management
Closely monitor product supply in order to pro-actively manage low inventory levels
Ensure adherence and compliance to all Sandoz and Novartis policies and procedures
Desired Skills and Experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or health-related field
Advanced degree (e.g. MBA, MD, PharmD, etc.) preferred
Minimum requirements:
Requires at least 8 years’ total work experience in pharma/biotech/medical device with a track record of progressing to more senior roles & responsibilities
A minimum of 5 years previous experience in the immunology therapeutic area is required
A minimum of 5 years previous marketing experience required; product launch experience (new product launch and/or significant line extension) preferred
Direct sales experience in immunology and/or account management experience preferred
Experience in biologics preferred
