The Strategic Planning Office manages, assesses, incubates, and prioritizes the strategic roadmap of products across the company. This is achieved by creating new products that leverage our deep-rooted connection to local communities and reach our customers in as many innovative ways as possible. In this senior level role you will assess new opportunities; write business plans, strategy briefs, or competitive analysis, to inform decisions on whether to pursue or proceed with new projects or initiatives. In this role you will have a clear understanding of the competitive landscape and will help develop strategic plans and business justifications that expand revenue, grow audience or extend the reach of the local markets. Here is your opportunity to aggressively manage our company’s new roadmap and build a team to oversee the coordination and prioritization of all our on-going projects. You willmanage the strategic roadmap of all of our company projects/initiatives and oversee a small team of Portfolio and Project Managers, aligned around the company divisions.
Desired Skills and Experience
Work experience:
Candidates must have a college degree 7-10 years of experience in strategic planning. MBA preferred
Must have experience working in a strategic planning environment with experience in building business plans and evaluating ROI, measuring business opportunities and their potential
Understanding of Portfolio and Project management an asset
Technical skills:
Highly analytic and process oriented – comfortable writing business plans
Familiar with Strategic Planning process
Comfortable dealing with complexity
People management/performance management
Superior communication skills in highly matrixed organization
Other special training or abilities:
Familiarity with (digital) media experiences and trends
Superior written and oral communications skills
Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for the company's mission
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in fast-moving environment
