Director - Worldwide Warehouse Deals - Amazon - Seattle
Job description
Amazon is looking for a general manager with proven experience in thought leadership, detailed execution, and people development to lead Amazon Warehouse Deals - a strategic global asset recovery business. You will own a global P&L, define strategic expansion, set direction across functional, category, and technical teams to build a great experience for customers across all Amazon websites.
The leader in this role will be responsible for driving the top and bottom line, managing all business aspects of Amazon Warehouse Deals plus leveraging a dedicated technical team to build and enhance the platform to improve customer experience. Responsibilities include management of reverse logistics (routing, grading, repair, listing, and disposition channels of liquidation, donation, recycle, harvest and responsibly destroy) for internal and external customers, building business plans for expansions across locales all while driving project schedules from end to end. This business leader will lead and oversee implementation efforts to develop optimal solutions and innovate to stay ahead of trends and customer needs. He or she will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to cross-functional and remote project teams.
The successful leader for this role will have operations or reverse logistics knowledge, experience managing software developers to define and build new technology, category leadership and product management expertise; seasoned experience hiring and leading teams; a history of successfully managing global P&Ls while implementing and managing change and building awe-inspiring new experiences for customers. The right candidate will be a natural, charismatic leader with a passion for people and a desire to learn while creating meaningful, tangible value for customers, Amazon and the environment. The role requires management of day-to-day operations and delivering large, global initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a combination of business leader, visionary, inventor, entrepreneur, builder, and operator.
Responsibilities

Lead a team and drive initiatives across geographies and functional areas.
Own revenue, cost levers and full P&L results for one of the largest Sellers on Amazon - Warehouse Deals.
Analyze key success metrics and industry trends; respond and adapt nimbly and ahead of the curve.
Harness the power of Amazon to drive our reverse logistics success.
Partner with key internal and external partners to innovate in customer experience, operational excellence and sustainability initiatives.
Identify commercial partnership opportunities globally.
Actively engage in driving Amazon’s participation in the Circular Economy.
US and International travel required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or related field
10+ years of relevant work experience
5+ years of management experience
2+ years as director, development manager, or start-up CEO or CTO
Experience leading a multifunctional organization (50 - 100 people) or subsidiary
E-commerce industry knowledge and experience, particularly in Operations, product management and business management.
Demonstrated strong organizational planning and development, business judgment, technical leadership, and communication skills
Ability to lead multiple simultaneous product development efforts and/or IT projects and initiatives.
MBA preferred
5+ years of software development experience or management of a development team
Development expertise or experience in OOP, UNIX, Perl, C++, XML, Web services, and UNIX tools
