Director - Sales, Business Development -NBC Universal - New York


Job description
Responsibilities
As a member of the Impact Team of NBC Owned TV Stations you need to uphold the standards and integrity built into the DNA of our brand.
Responsible for prospecting, targeting, presenting and coordinating all Business Development sales efforts for existing and first time television/internet advertisers for the NBC Owned Stations
Television group in a defined territory. Responsible for revenue generation utilizing TV, Internet, Telemundo, Out of Home, Mobile, Regional Sports Networks, Integrations and Olympics
Work, in partnership, with multiple offices of NBCOTS’s National Sales Organization (NSO) to develop revenue opportunities at the decision making level of advertising agencies. Work with NSO and in-house promotional partner to conceptualize, create and execute unique ideas in order to increase shares of existing accounts.
Maintain and grow your client direct account list for existing and new business.
Earn the confidence of clients through quality of work and customer satisfaction.
Strong client and agency relationships through world class customer service, efficiency and competency.
Establish strong relationships with new & current clients within your territory and outside your territory where you uncover opportunity.
Facilitate the selling process and deals within your territory.
Make presentations to both agencies and clients to ascertain their marketing needs.
Ascertain clients/agencies needs and put together customized solutions based on their marketing objectives.
Be responsible for driving new billing from your assigned territory across existing and platforms such as Internet, Digital OOH, Regional Sports Networks, LXTV.
Provide exceptional post-sale customer service in order to receive additional opportunity from the client or sister brands.


Embrace, understand, target, pitch and close our important initiatives, or tentpoles.
Communication of activities with your manager proactively offering consistent update correspondence.
Make a minimum of 20 cold calls (phone) per week either client direct or to agency account directors for clients not currently buying local.
Maintain a minimum of 10 active negotiations on your BD report at all times as defined as having submitted financial proposal as the result of a direct meeting or phone call.
Go on a minimum of three new business calls per week with an emphasis on clients (direct/agency) you have not yet done business with or have not already met.
Need to customize capability presentation to make client specific with research, client quotes etc
Make it a priority to return all emails and phone calls within 3 hours or by end of business day.
Weekly activity/billing reports must be delivered on time and complete.
Qualifications/Requirements
5-7 years in media sales
Bachelors Degree
Clear understanding and experience in all media, including emerging digital platforms
