Position Summary
This position is responsible for the Management and Operation of Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal, Bayonne.

Maintains open communication with all Vessels, Agents, Vendors, internal and external customers and all Federal, State and Local Agencies
Responsible for the selection and supervision of Stevedore, Maintenance, Parking and other service providers
Responsible for all scheduling, berth assignments and matters related to the operation and security of a marine terminal
Responsible for the overall security of the facility ensuring that the Terminal Security Plan is maintained and serves as Facility Security Officer (FSO). Also serves as chief liaison with all Federal, State and Local Authorities relating to security and emergency planning
Maintains awareness of current weather conditions, especially when such conditions pose a threat to a vessel or terminal property. Will take appropriate precautions to protect terminal property and notify the vessel and the Company should a vessel's diversion or delay is necessary
Ensures all vendor/service providers maintain safe working practices
Ensures terminal properties are maintained in good order for the safe environment of all guests, workers and visitors
Oversees port budget and processing of port disbursements, assuring compliance with proformas presented, evaluates monthly and quarterly results, and recommends adjustments to plans
Monitors the external business environment and identifies opportunities to fulfill the company's needs and cost control strategies
Attends business conferences, seminars and workshops as necessary
Participates with Board of Directors in the development of long-range planning and objectives
When necessary, travel to other ports to supervise, audit and make recommendations concerning terminal, vessel and security operations
Exercises the usual authority of a Director concerning staffing, training and development, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations
Requirements
Bachelors Degree required
7-10 years experience in marine terminal operations with progressive responsibilities
Must be a Certified Facility Security Officer
Must have strong knowledge of maritime laws and regulations
Must have excellent customer service, negotiation and crisis management skills
Strong security background necessary
Proven managerial experience
Excellent communication skills needed to deal with guests and all levels of management and employees
Working knowledge of marine terminal equipment, facility maintenance, parking operations and security protocol and procedures
Superior customer service and crisis management skills needed
Must be proactive in finding alternative solutions to problems as they arise
Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, etc.
Must be able to maintain mathematical data and present reports and projections as necessary
Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and devise solutions in a wide variety of circumstances
Must be able to read and interpret financial reports and legal documents
Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
Must be able to write speeches and articles for publication
Must be able to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
