Director - Mobile Acquisition - American Express - New York


Job description

To achieve OPEN's mission of helping small businesses do more business, we are looking for an individual to join the Digital Acquisition Marketing team to lead and execute an end-to-end mobile prospect acquisition strategy. The Director of Mobile Acquisition will be an expert on mobile marketing and will partner closely with the other teams in OPEN.



Specifically, This Director Will Need To Excel In The Following To Be Successful In This Role

• Assess current mobile touch-points and create an end-to-end strategy starting with solicitation through app completion, including metrics

• Identify appropriate mobile channels for card acquisition

• Implement creative and channel testing and provide analysis using predefined success metrics

• Manage programs to expected ROI with an understanding of cost of acquisition; analyze campaign results to improve performance and conversions

• Review all prospect touch points and make recommendations on how to evolve them into easy-to-use and delightful mobile experiences

• Stay up to date on emerging trends and technologies in the mobile space, vet new opportunities and make recommendations on how best to acquire new customers

• Create and drive the company's future growth plan for acquiring new card members through focused, data-driven, and ROI based mobile user acquisition strategies

Travel - 15%

Required Skills/Qualifications

• Acquisition expert with a passion for uncovering new ways to acquire customers
• Experience leading digital marketing teams with strong emphasis on mobile as a channel
• Creative yet analytical - uses data to support and drive recommendations
• Thorough understanding of digital analytics tools, including Omniture, Google Analytics, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate ideas into a comprehensive strategy and present it in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
• Ability to build and lead strong product teams that achieve high standards of performance
• Ability to conceptualize, negotiate and sell ideas internally and externally
• Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders without having a formal reporting relationship
• Ability to implement concepts, ideas and plans while functioning in a flexible, constantly changing environment
• Must be a strong collaborator, team player as well as an individual contributor
• B2B/SMB and banking/payments experience a big plus
