Job description
The Director of Insurance Services & Analytics will directionally drive our current and expanding Insurance business by providing superior knowledge of Personal Lines Insurance, coupled with a strong working knowledge of claims and the relationship claims has to the ultimate bottom line. This position will provide Insurance industry knowledge of products and policies allowing for industry standards to be communicated companywide.
Insight and financial analysis regarding products and services to the LeasingDesk Insurance line of business will be required as well as the ability to drive the relationships necessary to build future product offerings to not only remain competitive but drive the Industry. The preferred Candidate will also assist in the development, maintenance/monitoring and analysis of claims for all insurance products, and will work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles; exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results; and creates formal networks involving coordination among groups. The candidate must act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments and may supervise the activities of others always with an understanding of the complex insurance compliance environment and the knowledge to know when issues or items must be brought to managements’ attention.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintain professional relationships with existing carrier partners
• Develop monitoring schedule to service existing products which include results monitoring, audits scheduling, underwriting referrals and product expansion
• Establish/maintain production/profit strategies for assigned programs
• Possess a clear understanding of underwriting and pricing philosophies; maintain an in-depth knowledge of all tools and models used; maintain compliance with multiple carrier guidelines
• Modeling, Claims Analysis & Reporting; this includes development of policy/contract language, underwriting guidelines, pricing, loss ratios etc.
• Develop new or potential products, including vetting of new opportunities.
• Ensure ROI calculators and other tools are available to sales and supported on the back end through the CBR
• Provide ROI analysis of client business reviews, marketing campaigns and sales activities including but not limited to: campaigns, product statistics, CRM, online marketing, and media effectiveness
• Prepare clear, concise and actionable reports on each analysis
• Analyze marketing metrics to identify cause-effect relationships between marketing actions and financial outcomes to increase profitability
• Manage market segmentation, targeting, and positioning exercises as needed
• Build a marketing dashboard that visualizes key performance indicators and trends
• Complete competitive analysis to maintain our competitive advantages
• Work with sales and product teams to analyze competitors; determine brand perceptions; evaluate market penetration; understand customer needs
• Support annual and quarterly business planning process.
Desired Skills and Experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field) plus 3 years’ experience in operational or financial analysis
• Insurance related course work, either CPCU,AIC,SCLA, ARM or similar designation
• Minimum of 10 years relevant P&C Insurance experience, including modeling, analysis and insurance products preferably carrier based.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as excellent presentation skills
• Capacity to articulate complex technical topics to varying customer audiences (administrators to executives)
• Working knowledge of the multi-family business
• Familiarity with trends in property management software and services
• Exceptional analytic ability and knowledge of Excel, database queries, etc.
• Strong understanding of business metrics and key performance indicators
• Strong project management, business writing, and reporting skills
• Ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior level executives
• Solid business acumen, management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong computer skills, especially Excel and databases
• Working knowledge of spreadsheet programs/business intelligence and reporting software
• Solid analytical and reasoning abilities; must be effective at summarizing complex information; and
• Strong ability to articulate Insurance Requirements into programmable context
• Prior knowledge or experience in insurance tracking or monitoring
