Director - Software Practice - PC Connection - Boston
Job description
The Practice Director is responsible for managing and working with specific PC Connection's sales subsidiary engagements in support of growing and expanding the attach rate of professional services, as well as increasing the size, scope and margins of product only deals.
Duties include:
Acting as the primary contact for Solutions and Services Division
Working with Sales to help qualify professional services or complex product opportunities
Managing engagements (pre and post-sales)
Identifying and allocating resource(s) necessary to fulfill the opportunity
Aggregating content for inclusion in Statements of Work or RFP responses
Creating SOWs for presentations to customers
Working with Management, Business Development, and other resources to create solution offerings appropriate for the supported PC Connection's sales subsidiary
Performing or assisting, as required, with the performance of billing, time and expense tracking
Ancillary responsibilities may include the creation of internal and external communications; management of Professional Services System, Engineer's technical certifications, and management of Professional Services Partner Network members
Assist with the creation of presentations to be used by Professional Services supported Sales Teams
Presenting Professional Services capabilities and competencies to the Sales Teams and end-user customers
Providing pre-sales support as required and requested to grow the Professional Services offerings of the supported sales subsidiary
Attendance at trade-shows and vendor sponsored events to represent professional services
Desired Skills and Experience
Self-starter and capable of managing engagements from beginning to end
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are a must
A minimum of ten (10) years experience consulting in the IT Professional Services industry is desired
An understanding of finance, including the ability to create and present TCO and ROI scenarios is a plus
Master's or Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, business administration, management or related field
Ability to make rapid and concise decisions based on sound technical basis
Ability to communicate to diverse groups of technical and non-technical users
Experience in designing, configuration, and delivery of core Microsoft infrastructure solutions, including Windows Server, Hyper-V, Exchange
Strong knowledge of troubleshooting software and hardware and being able to follow installation from beginning to end
Technical certification: MCTS, MCITP, VCP, CCEA a plus
Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V, Exchange, System Center Suite, Lync, SharePoint Server, Office 365 (Microsoft Cloud) and Windows Azure a plus
