ResponsibilitiesRole Summary
Director of Publicity – Seeking a seasoned and motivated publicity executive who has direct experience overseeing and executing all facets of theatrical publicity campaigns. Must have strong editorial and talent relationships, and have direct prior experience working on both genre/commercial and art house/awards film campaigns. Ideal candidate is a creative, strategic thinker who is detail oriented, able to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Work in concert with senior publicity executives to oversee day-to-day activity on all publicity campaigns: includes mapping out long lead and fast breaking editorial strategy; managing master campaign calendar; overseeing press days, press stunts, press junkets, festivals and premieres; pitching broadcast, print, radio outlets to secure coverage for all releases.
Work with National VP’s to oversee comprehensive ensemble talent campaigns & engagement across all areas: traditional/digital press, stunt/event activations and social platforms.
Oversee strategy and execution for specialty market/s as identified for each campaign by managing agencies, developing timelines and monitoring benchmarks (sports, faith, lgbt, science, etc.).
Works directly with talent reps on individual talent campaign execution.
Direct and oversee awards campaign strategy and festival strategy
Oversee and manage all LA based local/national press campaigns as dictated by VP’s on each campaign.
Oversee all VIP/editorial and WOM screening programs in LA for theatrical and consumer campaigns.
Work with VP’s to oversee management of all LA press days, press junkets, special screenings, premieres.
Work closely with Vice Presidents to manage and direct day-to-day activities of publicity agencies: follow up on execution of publicity executives
Qualifications/RequirementsBasic Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in film publicity including direct experience pitching and securing editorial
Will have strong working relationships with journalists, talent representatives and guilds
Must have keen knowledge of innovations in the digital landscape, and have interest in keeping abreast of trends in social media
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
