Director - Revenue Management - Inventory - HIlton Worldwide - Honolulu


Description

A Director of Revenue Management withHilton Hotels Resorts is responsible for coordinating with the Director of RevenueManagement and the Director of Rooms to develop and execute the revenuemanagement strategies for the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Performs criticalanalysis to determine the best decisions for maximizing the overall hotelrevenue. Assists in the absence of the Director of Revenue Management tomonitor and manage peak property performance. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules, and evaluatesstaff.


Control and manage inventoryand availability for all room types in compliance with the optimal mix for theshort term and optimal allotments for the long term. Protect and preserve room types for highestcontribution customers. Communicate andalert revenue management committee of variances to optimal mix compliance. Train, mentor, and develop the RevenueManager - Inventory Control Guest Rooms,the Assistant Director Revenue Manager - Inventory Control Guest Rooms andReservations Manager. Supports the Revenue Manager - Meeting Space in theshort and long term strategy development.

Responsibilities

Specifically, youwould be responsible for performing the following tasks to the higheststandards:

Coordinates with sales marketing, reservations and front office to align rooms inventory andmonitor/train the teams on proper allocation of rooms.
Manages rateoverride process.
Develop andmaintain a comprehensive optimal mix/allotment control strategy.
Manage to theoptimal mix by market category by room type for 0 to 12 months rolling.
Define length ofstay requirements by room type.
Make decisions toclose room types.
Make decisions toopen or close special rate plans by room type.
Alerts pricing onleft to sell status for each room type for high priority days.
Controls grouproom pattern and availability

Assists in conducting the Weekly RevenueMaximization Meetings and prepares the necessary Reports and Analysis,including, but not limited to: Room typeutilization, ADR, RevPar, and contribution.
Train, develop, mentor, and manage the RevenueManager - Inventory Control Guest Rooms and Associate Director Revenue Manager- Inventory Control Meeting Space. Highlights areas for process improvement in reservations and frontoffice. Ensure alignment between theshort and long term inventory control.

Possess a full understanding of the principles ofsupply and demand analysis, performance measurement, and industry specificbusiness intelligence.
Ability to effectively deal with internal andexternal customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact anddiplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
Ability to read, speak, and listen to comprehendthe English language in order to communicate effectively to co-workers,understand reports and related correspondence and accurately perform essentialjob functions.
Ability to prioritize and organize workload toensure deadlines are met.
Ability to exercise judgment and implement controlover the performance of others.
Mathematical skills and skill in the preparationof complex mathematical calculations without error.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally andin written form.
Ability to continuously perform essential jobfunctions and work at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
Considerable knowledge of computer systems forregistration, reservations and back-up systems.
Thorough organization and supervisory skillsproficient in accomplishing the task.
Ability to develop employees to enhanceadvancement in the hotel and corporation.
Ability to analyze complex statistical data andmake judgments accordingly. Advanced computer skill required in the use ofMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).

What are we lookingfor?

EDUCATION

Any combination of education, training or experiencethat provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High school diplomarequired. College Degree preferred.



Experience

-7years of experience in Revenue Management in a hotel of 1500 rooms or morerequired. Additional experience in Front Office, Reservations and experiencedealing with wholesale partners/business is preferred. Related analytical experience essential. Strong experience or adaptable training inthe use of automated systems, personal computers and software programs.
